I believe it was Danny Ainge who first mentioned the Pierce injury during his interview with Mike & Tommy during a broadcast before the trade deadline.  It wasn't Pierce who revealed it to the media.

This pinched nerve deal for Pierce has been a multi-year thing.  I think he first aggravated it in a collision in 2010 during a home game against the Spurs.  He got hit on one side and clutched his neck on the other.  It was reported that he re-aggravated it in practice a few days later and might miss a game but didn't.  I know zilch about pinched nerves but it can't be good to get hit over and over in the same spot in a way that re-aggravates it.  When KG got suspended against Miami in the 2010 playoffs, he was looking after Pierce who looked like he might've pinched his nerve again after a collison with Q-Rich. I think he actually he hurt his nerve again in game 7 of the Finals that year too.

When I played basketball I had a similar problem with my neck that I had several doctors look at. When I had to turn my head quickly sometimes, it caused a nasty pain up my neck that pretty much caused me to look straight ahead or straight down for a minute or so. The pain dissipates somewhat and you have full-function again, but you don't really recover fully from it until the morning after. I would go 5 games without doing it, and then have it happen two games in a row. It is very annoying and uncomfortable when it happens but you can go quite a while without it happening.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

Its amazing how much the Boston media disrespects Pierce. They don't ever do this To Brady, all they do is kiss ass. Pathetic.

Anyone who is on the boston sports talk station is a sensationalist. Their hosts don't have an intricate understanding of basketball so they say things that are controversial to get attention.

This is a similarly stupid statement to when Fred Toucher recently said FU to Tom Brady.
