So I was lucky enough to be given tickets from a Celtics season ticket holder to the Celtics open practice tomorrow, and am very much looking forward to it.  For those that have gone to them in the past few in the past, I just wondered what to expect and if there were any possible tips to improve the experience.

Is it normally just a green and white scrimmage the entire time?  I'm planning on arriving early to hopefully get some good seats.  I have a Pierce jersey I have been holding onto waiting for him to do an autograph signing (it's been quite a long time since his last one), but didn't know if usually that wouldn't be the place for that.

Any description of past experiences would be greatly appreciated! I apologize if this should be in the off-topic forum, I wasn't sure the proper place for this post.

I've been to it the last few years. It's basically a preseason game but between 2 squads of the celtics team. It's nice to see, but nothing too different than going to a normal preseason game. Some guys sign autographs near the sidelines as they do before regular season games, but there have been no formal opportunities set up to meet the players during past open practices. I don't think Pierce even played in it last year. I remember him showing up sometime after the game started in his warmups shaking hands around the sidelines like a presidential candidate, LOL. He then hung out on the bench the rest of the game.

Last year after watching the open practice I though Wilcox, Dooling, Daniels, and Jermaine Oneal looked great and were going to be huge for us during the year. Goes to show you how much these scrimmages mean I guess.

I remember very much the same of Wilcox Daniels and ONeal at last year's open practice.  I've been a few times too.  It's ok, you usually get pretty good seats... it's probably a little less exciting than a preseason game actually.  There is something that feels a little more personal/exclusive about it though being a much smaller crowd.
