Poll on nba.com today:

What will the Celtics do in 2012-13?

A stunning 55% thinks celtics wont make the conference finals   :o

That's good - it's the same every season, and there is always some excuse for it.

In 08 nobody believed we'd have the chemistry, in 09 nobody believed we could beat Lebron, and every season after that we were just too old.

This season we have the youngest and most talented team since 08, and again people are back on the 'chemistry' bandwagon.

No biggie, as long as Pierce and KG are on this team we will never be a pushover - if any team does beat us, it's going to take every breath of energy they have. This team will never go down without a fight.

After taking off my green tinted glasses, I still find that % surprising.

Well maybe not if you think that if 100% of everyone assumes miami will make it, that only leaves 1 spot up for grabs.  If 100% of boston fans think they will make it, 80% of indy fans think they will make it, 70% of bulls fans think they will make it, 40% of knicks fans think they will make it, 70% of philly fans think they will make it, etc.  (these are all presumed biased opinions)

In that case, I'm actually surprised that 45% clip is as high as it is.  But if you ask only fans of western conference teams, I'd expect the % to be 45 or higher.
