Both teams like to play small, because it plays to their strengths mostly, because they lack size at 5 position and there's no true center in the east except for Andrew Bynum. I've been reading online that Erik Spolstra is considering starting Bosh at the 5 much like Doc Rivers did with Garnett.

Having guys like Bosh and Garnett at the 5, spreads the floor, because other big men can't run out. There's a reason why last season's ECF was competitive because both Miami and Boston went with small line-ups through out the series. Some would like to believe other, as if some how Bosh' injury played a role in the ECF going 7, but that's a false argument, because during the regular season when Bosh was in the starting line-up the Celtics won those 3 games easily, just saying.

I think Green can put a body on him, but actually blocking Bosh's shot we'll have to see. This season's Celtics team is deeper and better. If they can bottle up chemistry and consistency maybe they can get another crack at Miami and possibly exceed.

Bosh will look to shoot over him and (certainly will Bass) have some luck doing it from 20 feet out. This is Bosh's strength, being quicker, longer and able to outjump most of the other bigs in the NBA. We have the luxury of a guy named KG on our roster who has always destroyed Bosh when they play head to head. Trouble is, if KG is helping a lot on another player (Lebron) then Bosh gets a lot more points if he gets the ball.

This essentially addresses my main question:

Bosh will have an ability to shoot over Green, which plays to his strengths.  KG can eliminate this.  Does allowing KG to play off of Bosh and protect the rim outweigh what Bosh can do on Green?  Or can Green do a good enough job on Bosh so that we'd stick with that matchup to allow KG to protect the rim?

I just remember the hopeless feeling I had last year in the playoffs when Bosh was burying the corner threes on us because KG was "protecting the rim". I dont think we have a choice but to put KG on Bosh and hope Green and Pierce somewhat contain Lebron.

Is this totally nuts?
...
PG: Rondo
SG: Pierce/Bradley
SF: Green
PF: Garnett
C: Collins

Defensive assignments:
Rondo on Chalmers
Pierce/Bradley on Wade
Green on LeBron
Garnett on Bosh
Collins on whoever's at the 5

Switching up Pierce and Bradley gives us a good combo of shooting/scoring (which we need with Collins on the floor) and defense. It also keeps Wade out of a groove, having to switch off between the pest that is AB and the stronger PP. Also, this gives us more size all around, greatly lowering the chances that Bosh has somebody to shoot over (especially with KG on him). Green can do his best against LeBron, but there's backup at the rim if he needs it.

Be gentle, people.
I actually really like the big line-up with Pierce at the 2 and so on but not necessarily against Miami.

I do think we will see that line-up fairly often but Collins will only play 12-16 min.

Wade would smoke Pierce and he would have no energy to exert on the offensive end. I like the big line up though. I see Miami playing Bosh at the 5 a lot however.

Chalmers
Wade
Ray
James
Bosh
is a decent lineup for them and pretty tough to defend match up wise.

Also
Wade
Ray
Battier or Lewis
James
Bosh

Might be even better for them to run with.

Green will be on LeBron.
Question is if Bosh can guard Green?

We don't need Collins to guard whoever their C is, because they don't have any low post isolation threats.  I'd rather play Bass on that player for the added offense without very much defensive drop off since that offensive player will get such few touches anyways.
