I remember reading an interview with Gilbert Arenas where he said that the day Nick Young & JaVale got traded they told him "they'd been let out early on good behavior."

Suffice it to say, I think Blatche would play a whole lot better on a team that wasn't the Wizards. And my guess is that when you're a doormat team for so long, it kills any inclination toward giving a ****.

He was abused by Allen, Wade, and RYAN HOLLINS. Do I need to repeat myself?

I think that is a very interesting quote but to some degree, I think it was Blatche who created the environment that they were trying to get away from.  Certainly not the whole problem but probably a part of the problem.

I remember seeing him in those couple of seasons where he actually played well.  He was good and that guy could help the Celtics or any other team. Attitude can be changed sometimes but work ethic (and getting in shape) could be an irreparable condition.

I am just not sure that the Celtics are the right team at the right time for his opportunity at redemption.

Blatche is the man that Celtics need now, Danny Ainge should sign him, of what is in the market Blatche is best.

I think we have a short roster to compete with Heat or Lakers, Celtics need 2 players more, a center and a shooting-guard.

I'd gamble on him. Remember, before all this knucklehead moves that he made, in and out the court, the guy is averaging 16 and 8 on 48% shooting. The talent is there. Not many 6'11 guys can shoot from anywhere on the court and put the ball on the floor like he does, to add to his post game. He is not a terrible player, but he put himself in a very terrible position. And that's where the gamble part takes place.

He does need to be straightened up. Get his conditioning back (this dude is 260 lbs and can run the court before the chicken wing eating and lap dancing) as well.  That could be a tall order, but hey for maybe the minimum, with that talent, wouldn't you gamble on it? He was a locker room cancer, on a locker room full of teammates younger than him. I doubt he could be that on a veteran laden team. For me it's worth the gamble. I wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs or Bulls (especially the Bulls after maybe losing Asik and worrying about overpaying Taj Gibson) would take a flier on him, so why don't we?

The chance is diminished but certainly still there. The team's chemistry is (from what I see as an outsider) perfect right now. Blatche could waste the team's time with his potential ruckus(es).

Not only does the contract have to be small but it also has to be short (with team options). We could send his arse home and ban him from the Garden if need be that way without losing much.

But, hey, the Heat signed Eddy Curry without any apparent problems and they have 3 superstars, 2 of them have been acting like spoilt little girls, and Spoelstra, whose ability has been questioned even by some of the more deluded Heat "fans".

Blatche is a far better player, has far more incentive and has been less of a problem than Curry. He could be that one signing that lifts us. But a small contract and short is key.

Yep, of course that is the key. That's the why the gamble is medium risk high reward. For all the talent there could be some knuckle headed-ness (i made a word up  ;D),  so with a short and cheap contract, it'll be easy to dump him if he still screws up this second chance, which I doubt he will on this squad as I believe with our coaches and veterans he'll get straightened up.

I'd be down with giving Blatche the BAE for two years.  We need another center, and he's easily the most talented one on the market, albeit a complete knucklehead.

Mind you, this is assuming he hasn't completely gotten out of shape over the last 4 months.  If he has, no thanks.

With all the contenders only getting even better this offseason (ie. Lakers, Heat) we need all the talent and depth we can get. Yes to birdman, yes to Blatche. PLEASE!

If Blatche is serious about ever doing anything positive in the NBA, he will choose a team that gives him the best opportunity to reach his potential and achieve something besides ridicule and a 36% winning percentage.

From what I understand, if no amnesty claim is made for him, whatever money he's paid will be deducted from his Wizards' deal.  Signing for the minimum is in his future if not claimed.

Blathce has had issues with KG, but playing next to him on a team with the Cs' culture and strong coaching is the best thin for him.  Unfortunately, Blatche seems to be the kind of person who will screw things up regardless of situation.

Even with his history, if he agreed to at least try to buy in here, I'd prefer  Blatche over Sean Williams.
