As those of you who know your famous intersections should be able to tell, this year’s first teamers (from left to right, Perry Jones, Kyrie Irving, Jared Sullinger, Brandon Knight and Harrison Barnes) were shot right in the heart of Times Square in Manhattan.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Slam had Fab Melo on their third team in 2010 too.  Does Ainge scout with his Slam subscription?

i read on hoopshype that everyone reckon perry jones' knees will only last 3 or 4 years in the league, which is the reason he dropped.

well apparently he did want josh selby as part of the ray allen deal that didnt go thru with memphis... so maybe!!! :)

and just by the by on dannys draft strategy, since you bring it up:

i think danny also uses win scores as part of his drafting strategy because he drafted jajuan johnson who had a pretty big win score in college at 8.8 or so i think, and then at #55 he grabbed etwuan who had probably the highest win score of those available - and i remember when he drafted etwuan he said he didnt realise that they were on the same team, and i thought, "how could you not realise that? havent you seen them play?"

he wouldnt have known because he was only looking at stats - same as jajuan - i think last year who he wanted to grab in the first was faried, and in the second was selby.

I'd rather he uses his Slam subscription than NBAdraft.net like the Kings do.

Is clear that Danny looks at a players entire resume more that some. This is why the Melo pick is such a huge gamble especially when you look at who was available. Overall good job though.

Sullinger will have to work pretty hard to realise his full potential in the NBA. Lets hope he is up to it.

Danny Ferry was an All American it means nothing in terms of being a great pro.   I bet Adam Morrison was too.

current or former celtics drafted or signed by danny ainge who were selected by SLAM magazine in either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd team high school all-americans:

- Sebastian Telfair (2003)
- Kendrick Perkins (2003)
- Leon Powe (2003)
- Brandon Bass (2003)
- Al Jefferson (2004)
- Glen Davis (2004)
- Gerald Green (2005)
- Bill Walker (2006)
- Avery Bradley (2009)
- Jared Sullinger (2010)
- Fab Melo (2010)

Now, players he has reportedly had interest in getting in the past:

- Robert Swift (2004)
- Keith Gallon (2009) - who plays for the maine redclaws in the d  league
- Tyreke Evans (2008) - who he nearly traded rondo for in the 2008 draft
- O.J. Mayo (2007)
- Josh Selby (2010)

ANYWAYS, i think it's safe to say danny ainge has a subscription to SLAM magazine  ;D
