With Novak getting $4 million, is there any realistic way we keep Courtney Lee around the roughly $5 million we need him to sign for?

I think the argument that "we are the Celtics, not the Knicks. Our decisions are thought out and not impulsive or marketing-driven" would not only be a legitimate argument but also impress a player looking to play here.

Looks like a good contract to me, particularly since it is coming from an over the cap team with deeeeeeep pockets. He's a nice bench weapon, with 1 extremely good skill.

The issue with him as a player is that he's bad at everything else.

True. He's only useful as a 10th man. I'm glad he's a Knick and not a Celtic.

I think the C's will end up settling for a player that slips through the cracks and starts running out of options - like Posey in 07, or Pietrus to some degree in 11.

We gave danny a hard time for bidding against himself for Jeff Green but I think this is a bit worse

I think both times the Agent put the screws to the team because if they didn't resign Green/Novak they had no avenue to add a replacement.

It's nice to know we're not the only ones getting victimized in the season of the agent.

That's pretty crazy money for a guy who averaged 9 minutes and 4 points before last year.
