The club could potentially work out a sign-and-trade deal with the Heat, meaning they would sign Allen to potentially a three-year $18 million deal and then trade him to Miami for perhaps a player or draft picks, allowing Allen to earn more money and the Celtics to get a player back.

According to Celtics coach Doc Rivers, that is not likely to happen.

"I doubt it," Rivers said. "I don't know if they have anything to give us. I doubt it. I mean if they want to give us (Dwyane) Wade, then yeah."

In other free agent news, Mike Naiditch, the agent for Greg Stiemsma, said his client did not receive a $3 million offer sheet, as had been reported. He was scheduled to meet with Minnesota again today, but no offer has been made.

Then what the hail. I heard Stiemsma's gone because we can't match Minny's offer. I think Miami could give us Cole and picks I guess. We should s&t them Dooling for sabotage.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

Agreed.  I'm hoping Minny balks and Stiemsma ends up coming back to the C's on a cheap deal.  I like the depth he gives at C.

i ike stiemsma as well

Yeah i would really like the Cs to give him another shot to see what he can do when hes a bit more healthy and with full training camp and steady minutes.

Yeah, I don't know what kind of assets the Heat have that we would want.

And hopefully Stiemsma makes his way back to Boston on the cheap.

They're the enemy they aren't going to help us wheel and deal for anything and neither is Ray. He's taking joy in us scrambling for a replacement at SG screw them.
