He's potentially out of our price range, but if we possibly do a trade with Jajuan and some (second round) picks, could we possibly pick him up? It would allow KG back to the 4 and give a little bit of depth to the Center position.

I don't really understand the fascination of KG sliding back to the 4 spot when he is clearly more effective playing the 5? Besides Lopez is a bust I'd rather give the chance and watch Melo play.

We need a legit backup in case he doesn't pan out.

I thought I read somewhere Lopez might wind up like Hibbert , near Max contract .  Silly as it sounds , itseems to be the norm to try and keep a average grade center these days. If he is going to demand near Max , how could we get him?

I still think Melo is gonna be Fab u lous one day.

TP. This is my thinking as well. If Ryan Hollins can get playing time next to KG, than Melo sure can. I'm wicked excited to see him today in summer league.

For Brook Lopez, maybe.  Robin Lopez isn't even close to an average starting center, and shouldn't be in even the ballpark of the max.

Maybe $4 to $5 million, in my mind, just because of the premium for players in the middle.
