Pierce is a starter.  Even unhealthy he would start on nost teams.  Ray, for as good as he is, is better suited as a role player.  Apparently that's not enough for him, but it'll be exactly what he is, but he'll probably start.

Show up in Pat Riley's office wearing his Celtic jersey, put his feet up on the desk, smile and say "no."

That's what Paul would do.

Obviously Paul wouldn't bolt to Miami.  He has too much pride to do that.  Also, PP has a MUCH more level headed view of his career as he transitions into becoming less of a superstar and more of complimentary.  I remember Pierce talking about the possibility of taking on a 6th man type role when he nears the end of his career.  He said he could envision himself coming off the bench.

I always love his famous quote of "I give the game what it needs".  Pierce has shown an ability to adjust as the framework of the team has changed.

Thoughts please? ;D

Pierce has been in more trade rumors the Ray during his career in Boston.  I don't buy this B.S. about Ray being offended about trade rumors.  That's the nature of the business and you have to respect a GM for trying to make his team better.  Pierce gets that, otherwise he would have done the same thing a few years back.

Pierce also would not go to the one team that we clearly need to get by to get to the NBA Finals.

Pierce also knows that if he did go to the Lakers or Miami, willingly, he put his Celtics legend in serious trouble.

But then again, that's why he is the captain and Ray is not.

I don't care what anyone says, PP would NEVER go to the enemy, he would probably leave the Celtics like Ray did but never to go to a team that kicked his butt 2 years in a row to be their lackey! He has too much pride in his game and himself to do it! ESPECIALLY for that type of money when he was offered more by other good teams! Sorry, I just don't see that from PP or KG! I don't see if from RR and not because of loyalty either but b/c RR likes to prove that his team is better than the next... he hates when people or teams are considered better than him or his team. That's why he plays better against the best!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

On an outside chance, I could see Pierce going to the Lakers (but as the years go by, the less I think so). And although it would hurt me a ton, I would kinda understand it considering he grew up a Lakers fan, so for all he's done to this city, I might just allow him to be selfish for a bit.

But I really don't see him doing it, not after winning a championship, the grind of the past few years, and losing to the Lakers in the Finals, I just don't see it.
