In a nutshell:

We replaced Ray (and Pietrus) with AB and the Jet (a backup who could actually run an offense!? No more 48 minutes a night for Rondo now hopefully).

We'll (re)acquire Jeff Green and Wilcox (universe...are you kidding me? Both heart problems?)

We got a bunch of young bigs.

Do you think our offense will look significantly different? Would you welcome this change?

I certainly think (and hope) there will be less of a reliance on jumpers and more screens for Rondo. There's also more athleticism again all of a sudden.

Sully's (and maybe Fab Melo) development would change things a huge load.

A less tired Pierce with an actual legit backup is also something to look out for in my opinion.

Terry provides another ball handler as well as a spot up shooter.  That will greatly change what the C's do offensively when he's in the game, less of a burden on Rondo/Pierce overall.

I don't think our reliance on jump shots changes though, Terry is likely to get 30 MPG and he's a jump shooter just like Ray was, just less of a catch and shoot player than Ray has become at this point.

Sullinger could add some post offense to the team if he's able to handle a 15 - 20 MPG role as our primary backup PF. That and Jet's abilities will greatly change the bench unit's offense.

Remember, Doc had worked last summer on elements of a new offense that would in part make use of Green.  Then without Green or a regular preseason he canned it and kept with the old stuff.

So it wouldn't surprise me to see him roll it out now, a year later.

I think losing Ray will help us a lot of offense.   KG won't have to set as many picks.   It will keep him out of foul trouble.   Most of our guys can create their own shots but Ray could not.   We might even be more of a post team.  It might hurt floor balance but Terry will offset that.

It would be nice if ran the ball up the court instead of walked it!!

Also I'd be thrilled to get rid of that wait till 3 seconds left on the shot clock and throw up a prayer offense we run when Ray was on the court.

It's funny sitting here thinking about it, I could make a list of all the things I did not like about this team last year, and they still did well. If we can fix some of those things, we can be better.

I think there will be some changes but that it will still remain fairly similar as before.

A little more playmaking (PnR play) from Terry, some post ups for Green and more interior scoring from Sullinger. But only a little more in each case (Terry still takes a lot of catch and shoot opportunities running off of screens, Sully minutes limited and I don't think Green is a prolific scorer) ... so some changes but still quite similar to what the offense was before.

So, no, I don't think the offense is going to change a lot. A little, yes.
