Between that and watching Doc Rivers tell an interviewer on draft night that Danny insisted that Doc attend the draft with his son and how touched Doc said he was by Danny's family first attitude is fantastic. No wonder we seem to get older players who see life a little different than younger guys who are looking for a more jet set life.

Good article.  Random thought, though... why do these articles always make it sound like we did Jeff Green a favor by voiding his contract?  Lol.  Serious question... how is that doing him a favor.  I've read it dozens of times... the contract was voided to "allow" Jeff Green to be an unrestricted free agent.  I must be missing something.

... in reality wasn't it just voided, because they didn't want to pay money last year to a dude who couldn't play ?

A bigger "favor" would have been paying him despite the fact he was injured.  Don't totally get the spin on that.

  • Larry Bird for President
Rondo
 Bradley
Moore
Dooling
Ray or FA shooting guard
Peaches
Pierce
Jeff green
Bass
Sully
Joseph
Kg
Jjj
Melo
Steamer

That will be your roster...only thing i am uncertain about is if Boston keeps both Moore and dooling. Don't think you need both those guys.

I think the point was, that it was the QO that was voided, in stead of an actual contract, which means that Green is an UFA now. The alternative would probably also have meant the loss of some benefits.

The deal did get voided the moment he failed his physical. That is standard under NBA rules. The favor we did for him was renouncing his Bird rights so he would be free to do what he wanted once cleared to play. Had we held them it would have really handcuffed what he and his agent (David Falk, who happens to be Sullinger's agent, I'm not sayin', I'm just sayin') could do this off season. It was simply the gentlemanly thing to do.

It says a lot about the organization within.  Doc & Danny are always on the same page and thats key in today's NBA world.  I have to believe that Doc isn't the only one that respects Danny.  The players and agents do too.  He isn't one to lack honesty.  Hell come right out and tell you like it is.  Much respect to our GM.

They need to put #44 in the rafters and quick.  He darn well deserves it.
