Brief scouting report from my buddy who never misses a Bulls game or a cuse game, and went to syr for college, sees four or five games a year in person:

Quote
He worked his ass off to get in the shaper got into last season he lost 35 pounds

And could play 36 mins a game if needed

He's got a very good jumper which u will see soon enough

He's only played ball for
Like 5 years the kid hasn't scratched the surface of his potential

And he's a shot blocking machine

Defensive player of the year in the rugged big east that ain't no joke

I would've loved if he fell to the bulls

I think fab already is better than omar asik

Nobody has anything to say about this?

well ray is prly gone(i have gotten over that), jeff green shouldnt break the bank and if u tell KG that they will bring in an actual center like Lopez(either) or Kaman or Marcus Camby with Melo and Steamer off the bench....then maybe he will come back for a lil less? If we get mayo and an actual centr AND KG comes back I really reallly love our team!

PG: rondo/moore
SG: Bradley/mayo
SF: pierce/green/pietrus
PF: KG/Sully/JJJ
C: Kaman or Camby or Lopez/ Melo/Steamer

maybe even bring back dooling, wilcox or delonte for cheap and the #51 pick is there too... I'm happy  8)
dont forget kris joseph lol

New look at the roster:

Rondo
Bradley/Moore
Pierce/Joseph
KG/Sullinger/Johnson
Melo

Still another pick to go tomorrow. I have to say, it seems pretty clear the plan is to S&T Bass for Mayo, resign Green, Pietrus and Steamer and end up somewhere like this:

Rondo/Moore
Bradley/Mayo/Pietrus
Pierce/Green/Joseph
KG/Sullinger/Johnson
Melo/Steamer

Mayo has 1-2 versatility off the bench, Pietrus can play either wing position, Green can go to 4, KG can be bumpe by Green, Sullinger or Johnson to the 5. Lots of potential and versatility in that lineup, and suddenly not really that old. Add in another player or two and you're talking something very interesting.

Updated with Joseph. Pieces fit together with this pick a little bit more. The main holes on the roster now, surprisingly, seem in the backcourt.
2023 Historical Draft: Toronto Raptors

Point Guard: Anfernee Hardaway, Fat Lever, Terrell Brandon
Shooting Guard: Paul Westphal, Paul Pressey
Small Forward: Marques Johnson, Danny Granger
Power Forward: Jermaine O'Neal, Bobby Jones, Kiki Vandeweghe
Center: Marc Gasol, Serge Ibaka

Yes, he has been playing for 6 yrs... he works his butt off as you can see, losing the 35lbs and working on his game! I mean, I think people are judging the guy too quickly!

ill be honest I was down on Fab Melo before we picked him but it was mostly because of his attitude... this pick screams to me that kg is coming back because hes the guy we need to really wip Melo into shape.

On a side note, I love the Sullinger pick. I've always been a big fan of him

I don't mean to single you out, but people on this board need to realize that not every little thing out there is a sign that KG is coming back or retiring.

I've got Sullinger as backup center as well as PF, and Bradley as backup PG

Rondo/Bradley
Bradley/Moore
Pierce/Joseph
KG/Sullinger/Johnson
Melo/Sullinger

agreed with this but I think we'll grab an additional center in the offseason and resign either Bass or Wilcox and Pietrus and maybe sign a guy like Crawford as backup sg

true and I understand that but a guy like Melo is a risky pick unless hes playing next to a guy like KG. It doesn't mean hes coming back it just seems that way

Which is good because those are comparatively easy to fill, as esel1000 beat me to the punch

This has to be one of the most disappointing drafts in a long time.  Of all the players who were drafted in the 1st round, Sullinger was the player I absolutely did not want.

If I turn out to be wrong I'll gladly eat my crow, but I just don't see it.  He just isn't going to be more than a bench player.  Arghh, I am so freakin' mad!  Perry Jones and Moultrie were still on the board and we took Sully.  I HATE DANNY!

And you know, I probably wouldn't be as mad about the Melo pick if it wasn't for the Sullinger pick.  Melo has substantial upside, but also has huge risk.  If we had taken anyone else, I wouldn't have minded it so much.  To take two extremely risky players though, ugh.

I did like the Kris Joseph pick though.  Probably won't be more than a bench player, but thought he easily should have went 5-10 spots higher.

I'm in the bust camp on this dude honestly but the 2nd year improvement does give me hope.

I like the scouting report and hope he does really have a jumper that'd be nice.
