I want to make this clear - I'm not suggesting that Sullinger is a guy who could step into Bass's role right away.

Bass said he said he wanted more than what Big Baby got, which is $26 million over 4 year. Bass is a fantastic role player, but for a team that isn't a legit title contender, that's more money than I'm willing to commit to a role player. I'd love to see a sign and trade for a shooter or someone to run with Rondo and Bradley.

If the Celtics get everyone back...what more can they do to be a legit title contender in your eyes? They're a title contender, I just hope that they don't give Bass the same contract as BBD. Maybe Billy King will give us a 1st rounder for him

  • GOT IT!!!
There's only so many minutes to go around. I think it's inevitable Bass is gone next season.

If the reports are correct about KG wanting to return to the 4, things could get a little crowded there with KG, 3J, Sullinger AND Bass.

Fringe title "contender" at best. I loved this year's team, but I know how lucky we were to get to game 7 of the ECF. KG and Pierce will be a year older - even if they're similar players they won't be able to play as many minutes. Sure, there's always a chance that there could be some devastating injuries to some of the top contenders next year, but I don't think we should be in "win-now" mode. I think we should be looking at a pseudo-rebuild starting this year.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
I didn't know that he was on record as saying he wants more than Big Baby. (I try and keep up, I'm just not as diligent as you guys). Pfft. Baby himself was overpaid. And while I think Bass is better than Baby, I don't want us overpaying for him. I keep remembering how Lebron just schooled him.

I don't know where Bass ends up, but for all I care, he can be long gone in my book if he wants that kind of money.

KG, JJ, Sully
Wilcox, Steamer, Melo

Huge team upfront with new additions, and KG moving back to PF

It's a good way of saying, "Hey, Kevin. This Melo guy is gonna be the center, okay? You can play the 4, cool?" while really thinking "Hey, Kevin. This Melo guy is going to play 10 minutes a game at center, and you're going to play the majority of your minutes there. Which is fine, because we'll have guys like this Sullinger kid to play the 4 in your absence. Hope that's cool."

that's more money than I'm willing to commit to a role player.

I'm more concerned by the number of years than I am by the dollars.

bass is GONE!

NO WAY bass is coming back now. how many power forwards do you want...

bass will get sign-and-traded. he was a great pick-up, but dannys not gonna pay him now that he's got sullinger -

who will be at least as good as bass this season.

That is if Sullinger can even play this year. He has that bulging disk issue that's going to require surgery I'm sure.

Danny said he is not even sure if he has to have surgery or not... he went as far as saying Doc played 13 seasons with a herniated disk (is what I'm thinking means it's what Sully has) and was just fine! So who knows what may happen.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Well if he doesn't need surgery, then I'm all for signing and trading Bass to get a Mayo or a Josh Smith.. I think Sullinger is a great fit for us and can easily step in and contribute a good portion of what Bass did this year. Hopefully Doc plays him.
