It's not an excuse just fact I'm sure if there is a handful of teams that were most hurt by the stupid compressed lockout schedule, we were at the top of the list effected by it. I'm proud of the guys given the injury situation, no training camp, back to back to backs 8 games in 11 nights or whatever...we still were one game away from the Finals.

I hope we roll the dice next year with our core curious what could have been under a normal NBA schedule and if we had some of our young guys in Green/Bradley. Then next year you add in any of Ainges offseason pick ups I think we can still make a run and even come out the East but maybe that's just me being positive.

A lot of things did indeed go wrong for us this year.  A lot of bad luck.

But we also had a lot of things go right for us in the playoffs. Some major good luck.  Probably should have been dominated by the Bulls in the 2nd round, for instance, but they lost last year's MVP to injury.  A healthy Bulls team was definitely the favorite in the east this year.  Boston was pretty undersized come playoff time... had we met Dwight Howard and Orlando in the playoffs... it would have been troublesome.  Had Horford been healthy from the start of the Atlanta series... it could have been troublesome.  Had Bosh been healthy to start the Heat series... that series might have been much shorter.

I'd like to bring the band back mainly because I don't think we have any better alternative.  Bringing KG back is absolutely crucial.  Adding a Jeff Green and landing some capable rookies might help as well.  Let's cross our fingers Bradley continues to develop.  We are unlikely to have cap room to sign anyone significant... so our "additions" will be limited to above for the most part... and maybe a MLE signing (hopefully a capable vet big man).  Once again... if a lot of stuff goes right, we could very well make another deep playoff run.
