If this has already been posted, apologies.

For all you draftophiles out there, some news from ESPN:

http://espnmediazone.com/us/press-releases/2012/05/espnu-to-televise-2012-nba-draft-combine-june-7-8/

"Over June 7 and 8 ESPNU will present eight hours from the 2012 NBA Draft Combine at the Flames Athletic Center in Chicago. Coverage will begin each day at 10 a.m. ET and will be highlighted by interviews with top draft picks, NBA and college coaches and general managers. The Draft Combine will also be available on ESPN3.

In addition to live reporting and analysis, viewers will get an inside look at how the expected top draft picks fair in the following skills challenges:

•Standing Vertical Leap
•Maximum Vertical Leap
•Lane Agility Drill
•Modified Lane Agility Drill
•3/4 Court Sprint
Ryen Russillo will host the two-day event with analysis from the network’s college and NBA experts. Analysts Fran Frascilla and Jay Williams will contribute their in-depth knowledge of each draftees college skill set, while Andy Katz reports from the court.

In addition, NBA analysts Chad Ford and Tom Penn will provide expert knowledge and understanding of the needs of each NBA team."

Enjoy!

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
This thread needs some bumping I'm seeing posts that should be here in other threads.

Wish I could watch it.

It's on ESPN3 Replay anytime you want to watch it

Wroten can't shoot at all from deep and has a sideways wrist flick on his shot. If he can follow through flicking his wrist straight toward the basket, he'll have a straighter shot.

They really like Lillard as an efficient player.

Satoransky the Euro 6'7"PG/SG looked decent to me.

Doron Lamb hit most of his shots, as did Kim English, a potential pick at 51.

Quincy Miller looked stronger, still has a ways to go. Some of the analysts think he's only a stretch four, like a poor man's Chris Bosh. He'd have a real nice handle for a 4 though.

PJ3 didn't look great, except physically. He's a 3 trapped in a 4's body with a 4's skill set.

Harkless looked pretty good, hit his shots. Better than QMiller imo.

Will Barton looked great, even though he worked out with the 3's. They kept talking about his great competitiveness and motor. They'd rather calm a player down than try to get a pulse going.

Terrence Jones looked awesome and the analysts rank him the 3rd best PF.

Nicholson shot really well, but I doubt he weighs in at more than 230 tomorrow. Somebody made the point that he probably didn't really lift weights in college, and he definitely had that look. Didn't expect him to look so small next to Terrence Jones. Royce White was obviously far stronger than Nicholson, and I like Royce White the player more than Nicholson the player.

People here talk about tanking next year to get a lottery pick, like its the holy grail. Royce White, there's your lottery pick if he's still there at 21.

Great quickness and handle for man that size. I know White had the ball most of the time, and was mostly faced up to the basket, but White could easily establish deep position posting up, and can dribble, spin, and bully his way to easy buckets all day in the NBA.

I don't see a big that tough and talented falling to the C's for the next 5 years.

Nicholson got swatted by Henson, but Henson was crazy long. I was per-occupied when I first saw that, and didn't realize it was Henson swatting it. I was worried most any NBA 4 would be able to swat Nicholson's fadaways, but was relieved that it was Henson.

Somebody said Nicholson's wingspan was 7'1", but I had heard Nicholson measured out at 7'4" last week. We'll find out tomorrow.

I guess Melo and Leonard looked great in their workout, but the broadcast ended way pre-mature.

White and Melo would be a gamble, but it could lead to some titles with an MVP caliber Rondo.

I don't think White needs the ball to be effective, although it stinks that he can't stretch the floor at all right now because of his poor shooting touch, which was also on display.

White, Melo, Nicholson I like now. White and Nicholson together wouldn't be an efficient use of picks though, although I guess maybe it could be if one can move to the 5 regularly, or if White could play anybody at 3.

Oh, and Jeff Taylor shot really well and might make Jeff Green somewhat expendable if he wants too much money. Otherwise I'd rather work with Green the veteran and draft another position.

If Quincy Miller falls to the 2nd, as he might, I'd love to buy a pick and get him, like Danny did with Bill Walker. In 2 years Miller should be a great stretch 4.

I saw a lttle bit of Taylor.  Didnt know alot of guys that were gonna be there or I woulda watched longer.  Analyst were really high on him.  From what I saw so far on videos I like Q miller and Nicholson in the projected spots.

Unfortunately I don't see any way we can get up high enough to get him using just our picks. If we trade Avery Bradley and picks for him I'll be p---ed.

If he starts to slip and we can get him for our two picks plus (either another pick, JJJ or taking on a contract) I'd jump all over it. He is pretty much useless on offense now but I believe he could come in right away and be an NBA defender.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I want Bernard James for our second rounder.

27 years old but big and physical. Active and mobile. Raw offensively but he can help right away.

A war vet, high character guy. I saw how he played in FSU, he's physical as heck.
