KG is the closest thing I've seen to Russell, in his force of will and the incredible intensity he brings to the game.

5 needs to be right beside 6 in the rafters of the Garden.

That is oldschool, brings a smile to my face :)

Talking clips from tonights game, can anyone dig up the clip were Rondo' single handedly destroys the hearts of the Heat by turning a beast of a block by Wade into a out stretched, one handed push/slap pass to pietrus in the corner and if that wasnt enough Rondo was pushed mid air by Lebron while making that picture perfect circus pass.

That was by far.. the best play of the game!

That right there might be the single best thing I've seen from Rondo in his career.

When you've got a player who pulls it inward when things aren't going well - as Rivers referenced on Sunday on TV - to see him continue finding ways to help this club win like that spectacular play is about as encouraging as it gets.

Rondo didn't help us scoring, but as I've preached to people who insist wrongly that numbers measure this game, he helped us by outworking Miami players, like this.

Can I call this karma? the game where Bradley blocks Wade and Battier hits a 3, now its Wade blocks Bass and Pietrus hits the 3 =P

KG has become my third favorite Celtic ever after Pierce and Havlicek. Bird used to be third, but KG just replaced him on my list. I love this guy. It would be great if he got a position with the organization when he retires.

This is a night for Celtics fans to be celebrating a big win.  A gutsy effort by the green team.

Thanks for taking a lame pot shot.  There was nothing wrong with Rondo's effort tonight even though his shots weren't falling, and there's been nothing wrong with his effort all playoffs long.

Awesome, awesome stuff, folks (TPs) ... I love KG's old-school attitude and strut, and he has as much team spirit, and knows and epitomizes what Celtic Pride is all about, as much as anyone before him or since.

The first time he walked through those Garden doors he took on the mantle, spirit and tradition of Boston Celtics basketball, and he has always carried it since then with the full yoke of humility, competitiveness and cutting-edge intensity.

After his injuries last season, I honestly thought he'd never get back to a hundred percent, but he has done so by far exceeding any expectations, and has been the anchor at both ends of the floor, (and off the floor), that we so desperately needed.

We are so priveleged to be watching such history and excellence unfold before our eyes, and so blessed to be taking part in another chapter of one of the most storied sports franchises of all time. There will never be another Big Ticket, and I'm so happy he's sharing all this with us.

I could write a similar post for every one of these guys, each with their own unique characteristics and talents, but I think KG really set the tone for this one, and gave the team the emotional and physical standard needed to pull out such a gutsy win.

This was an ugly, ugly game, folks, and our boys were just plain awful in the first half, (and not much better in the second), but behind Ticket's spirit and grit, they dug down deep and did what was needed to steal one in South Beach. Man, I'm proud of this team tonight!

Go Celtics!

Just saw the mid air rondo slap pass from a different angle on NBA.com and im just completly shocked, what rondo did on that play is absolutly BONKERS, Nuts, absolutly utterly INSANE.

1.) He instantly reacts to the ball comming out
2.) His hand is only comming forward (thus never catching the ball) he is in a sense slap'ing the ball out to a open Pietrus
3.) The ball is delivered to Pietrus absolutly perfectly, he dosnt have to move from his spot and he can catch and shoot that ball as if its been thrown to him by a trainer during warmups
4.) Rondo had 2 outstretched arms of a much taller LeBron James in his face making his field of view very limited regarding his vision of Pietrus
5.) There is arguably some contract from James at the very instant Rondo slaps the ball out
6.) Oh yeah and he does it all while hanging mid air.

That is off the charts difficulty level stuff, that is by the best pass rondo has ever delivered in my books
