This is a special team. These old, injured guys brought the eastern conference powerhouse to the 4th quarter of game 7. That is amazing.
As much as this loss stings (and I'm happy it wasn't ref decided I really am), this team accomplished something great and something nobody, even most of us, gave them the chance to do. This team, out of 30, is 3rd place and thats something I never thought would happen.
This team proved something... when the going gets tough, the tough get going. They 2011-2012 Boston Celtics never gave up. They never bowed to the pressure, they never listened to the media, or even their some of their own fans who at one time lost faith that this team had a fighting chance. This team taught us a lesson we can all take into our own lives.. to never give up. To never feel defeat, to never let anybody tell you that you have no chance to accomplish what you want to do.
They may have lost game 7 of the ECF, but they're winners in my eyes. They'll always be winners to me. So remember... when you feel like nothing is going your way, remember the 2011-2012 Boston Celtics. When you have a goal and no one believes in you, remember the 2011-2012 Boston Celtics. And when you lose faith in yourself, remember the 2011-2012 Boston Celtics.
This sounds corny I know.. but its so true. You can learn so much from what these "old injured" guys did in this condensed season in which everyone wrote them off. They never gave up. They fought to the end. So when something gets tough, and when you feel as though you are ready to give up... remember the 2011-2012 Boston Celtics.
Thank you for the season guys, and thank you for this lesson that your season taught us. I'll never forget you... ill never forget this team.
