It's time that we suck it up, and realize that Ray should only be used for about 15 mins per game right now. The guy who is a perennial 90% ft shooter is shooting 65% right now. He's becoming a liability on the floor, instead of one of the reasons Rondo gets the assists that he normally would.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
I love Ray Allen to death. In fact, when I go to the court and shoot some baskets, I try to employ his work ethic and just practice as much as I can with his shot in mind. He's an inspiration. I really love the guy and thought forever the guy had the prettiest shot I ever seen. That being said....

We can't go into an ECF series against the Miami Heat and just wait around for Ray to get it back together. The man has looked horrendous for awhile now and I don't see signs of him coming back to what we've all been accustomed to all these years. Its really sad to see him like this. Even tragic. I love the guy. But he's hurting our team now and our chances of victory. As mentioned earlier, coming off the bench for a solid 15 minutes and hoping he does well is better than leaving him in for 30 - 40 minutes and just see him miss almost every shot he puts up and even worse, missing Free Throws. Thats the most alarming thing and the #1 thing that makes me think you've got to sit him. If he's not well enough to hit free throws consistently, he's not well enough to throw up 3's like we're used to. We're settling for him launching 15 attempts to hopefully make 2. That's not going to work. Give me Pietrus in his place and have Ray come off the bench.

It's time. Love you Ray, but it's time.

Yep, it's time to sit Ray if we want any chance of winning this series, He's a useless body out there. Hollins is a better shooter than him at this point.

If Ray doesn't play better then we really have no chance anyway. No one on that bench can come in and help us win I'm afraid. The only possibility would be to slide Pietrus into the starting lineup and have Marquis come off the bench. Maybe E'twuan Moore even. Maybe that allows Pierce to slide over to the 2 and guard Wade which might make him better on the offensive end as well. I don't know. I really think we have to have an effective Ray to have a chance. Maybe a game's rest in game 2 would help him though.

But I thought 2 clutch shots in the 4th are worth going 1 for 12 during the rest of the game and playing subpar defense?

Unless Ray's ankle is going to magically heal there is no way he's playing better for the rest of this year.  So why are we playing him so many minutes?  Doc is stubborn.

I actually thought Ray shot the ball from 3 OK last night, he had 2 early that went in and out.

But is FT shooting is mind-blowing, as someone said.  And not in a good way.  It has to be all mental.  I can shoot better from Ray from the FT line right now.
