OK, so here's my premise. Pierce and Garnett are quality starters for 2 more years until Pierce's contract expires and they retire into the sunset. In order to contend, though, we'll need the San Antonio approach - depth and youth to balance them out.

I also think free agency is a hazard to avoid. We don't need to go spending $10M on Ilyasova or Hawes or HIbbert. We can't sign a guy like that plus Garnett and have any depth, and they aren't All-Stars. I'm going to assume we don't move up in the draft and nobody "drops" to us.

- 2 year deals expire with Pierce
- Allen walks. Bradley is the future and Allen won't come cheap enough.
- Backup Bradley with someone athletic who can match his energy, but offensively (Walters)
- Stable backup for Rondo who can hit free throws and different matchups: Billups
- Kirilenko can still be elite defensively (goodbye no-pass, no-defense Bass)
- White is our project, compete with JJJ for the backup spot (and Green can play the 4 as well)
- tons of matchup flexibility with Green, Kirilenko, White, Garnett, JJJ
- pickup a big body in the 2nd round if possible for spot minutes

YOUR 2012-2013 BOSTON CELTICS

Rajon Rondo / Chauncey Billups (2 years / $10m)
Bradley / Dion Walters
Pierce / Jeff Green (2 years / $10m)
Kirilenko (2 years / $10m) / Royce White / Jajuan Johnson
Garnett (2 years / $20M) / Stiemsma / 2nd rounder

good plan.
i think green for 2 years 10 mil is a bit too low,
kg can get chauncey to play here i think, as for AK47 not sure he wants to come back to the nba.

other thing to consider is who's in the free agent poll in 2014...
