I've thought about this many times....West starting next to KG would have been really nice combo especially with Bass coming off the bench with Ray.  Indy are going through obvious growing pains in the playoffs but are solid.

If we are dreaming of unicorns and rainbows...how about this rotation:

KG
West
PP
Avery
Rondo

Steimer
Bass
Jeff Green
Pietrus
Ray

...I know Ray isn't a PG and Pietrus and Green would have been a bit redundant but think of the match-up options Doc would have had against Miami!  And yes, I am jumping way way ahead of myself.

for all we know, he could be looking at the celts as they are right now and wondering if HE made the right decision. especially if we can make it to the ecf and the pacers get knocked out in the second round.
I'm guessing he is quite happy where he is. There is also no reason to expect that team to do any worse next season.

There are a lot of "what ifs" going around lately.  I like the team we've got, though.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Yes, I think of D west and green on this roster also.  Surely we wouldn't have signed Pietrus.   West is tough and would really improve our rebounding and he shoots it as well as Bass.

bass just isn't a killer like (KG, ray, Pierce and Rondo).  BBaby was also clutch in the postseason sans last year.   Delonte also.

Key in my mind is having these type of guys come playoff time.   RONDO and Pierce just turn it up a notch in pressure moments.   I don't think Bass is that type of person.   Thankfully we have enough of these guys to do well in the playoffs.

If we can contain Dwade with Bradley and Pietrus we can limit the Heat to Lebron to do it all.  Bosh will shrink as he always does.   Should be interested assuming we make there, but I think we will.   I hope Indiana makes the HEAT work and takes them to 7

Go CELTS!

Brandon bass will be fine...nice of you to jump off the bandwagon (or maybe you were never on it because youre a big baby guy) of the guy who helped us and was great all year and things changed when he entered the starting lineup and put KG at the 5
who cares about david west...he chose indiana because he liked the younger talent, didnt have great relationships with members of the celtics, and money

I never jumped off and am on record as being ok with the trade. :-\

I'm more than ok with the Bass trade. Big Baby was a virus. Now signing Bass to a big money long term deal, I'm not ok with.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

I´m sure, Boston with David West a contender, a front court with West and KG is spectacular.

The Celtics would be a better team and JO would have actually been useful.

How about :

KG
Jsmoove
Green
Bradley
Rondo

Stiesma
Ersan Ilyasova
Pierce
Pietrus
Dooling

I would get Jsmoove + Ilyasova in exchange of Ray and Bass and JJJ and first round pick

Yeah, but it depends on the "rules of the game"

I think you're taking this from the "almost could have been" realm to the "very cool trade idea" realm.

David West was almost a Celtic, Green would have been but for his heart condition, and there is a strong likelihood that Kaman would have been if NO had bought him out.

But all in good fun :)
