Says the only thing that's going to stop him playing is if he 'falls down the escalator and injures something else.'
Maybe we can force the Hawks to enter through the front of TD Garden?

When pressed further, Smith left little doubt that he was in fact returning to the lineup regardless of how his knee feels.

Hawks are going to basically die to win this game.
I'm worried about the minutes and the toll game 3 took on KG and Pierce-they both looked exhausted. This ain't the time to get comfortable knowing that you only need 2 wins in 4 games.

Lets pray that Bradley takes a cortisone shot and Ray can play too. We need Bass and Rondo to go nuts tonight. Bass and KG need to spread the defense out with those jump shots and give Rondo as much opportunity as he can get to get inside.
Time to start connecting on some 3 balls!

Hopefully Smith won't last long and his leg means he loses his quick first step on KG.

Finger crossed.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

game 3 was the worst "win" i can think of - we completely drained our starters, especially the big 3. once the lead hit 11, i was really hoping doc would sub out pierce (whose legs were clearly shot all game, leading to his horrible shooting), kg, and ray, if only for a few minutes. i was always worried about this series, but am even more so now. granted, i'm glad we're up 2-1, but its a very uncomfortable lead. really hope doc leans on the bench more today and that they produce. that insane stretch to end the season really killed us. too many games in a short period of time.

If Josh Smith tears his ACL or suffers some other sort of injury in the game, does he get criticized for taking unnecessary risks or applauded for putting his body on the line?

If you are cleared by the medical staff to play I don't see how you can ever be criticized.

And if you are cleared by the medical staff and dont play I think you should be criticized just about every time.
Those are my thoughts at least

  • I'm a Paul Heyman guy.
I admire Josh Smith's desire to play and help the team if indeed his knee is still banged up.

I still don't think, not just because Im a Celtics fan, that it's a good idea to risk more further grave injuries. He's still young, and could do some more in his career.

But much respect. His desire to win is much respected. Too bad, they will still lose though.  ;)

I guess you've never seen our national sports media in action.

I think a 75% healthy Smith is not a certain asset  ???,   he very well may hurt his teams chances instead of helping. I feel this is probally going to be the case unless he is sand bagging.

Yes, a slowed Josh Smith is welcomed over full speed Marvin or Tracy.
