Even if John Henson falls to us, I'm unsure how much sense it would make to draft him, instead of using the pick at other spots. I think Anthony Randolph is a very similar type player that should be available cheaply though free agency. What I find the most interesting is that Henson is only 1 year younger than Randolph.

I see Randolph as the perfect player to play with Rondo and in 31 career starts Randolph has averaged the following:

PPG 11.6
RPG 8.2
APG 1.1
SPG 1.0
BPG 1.4
FG% 47.8
FT% 79.0
MPG 25.11 (ONLY)

I just dont see the comparison.  Randolph played in a the weak SEC, very rarely played anyone of his size and his team did poorly.

Henson played on a team that was a title contender for 3 years, played several top bigs, including holding his own against Anthony Davis and Plumlee Triplets and performed well in each matchup.

You cannot take stats from UNC and think they will reflect the NBA.  Jordan was held consistently under 20 pts because Dean Smith did not believe a team could win with just one scoring option.  Same with Vince Carter and Jamison, they split the stats.  Actually whenever the Tarheels have won, its because they had more than one option.  Ty Lawson, Wayne Ellington and Hansborough, Sean May, Raymond Felton + Rashad McCants, Jordan, Perkins and Worthy and the entire starting 5 on the 93 team.

Henson's defensive abilities dwarf any player in the NCAA except Anthony Davis.

IMO, if you want a better comparison I would take Javel McGee without his stupidity, that is a much better comparison at this stage of Henson's career.

Also just remember this is the NBA, somebody will teach Henson how to shoot.  They did it with Ewing and Hakeem, they will do it with Henson.

John Henson is logical choice for Celtics. Big guy who can defend. My opinion he will slip in this draft to 15-20 and we might get him. But he is not going to be a star, he can be a solid player maybe a starter in this league but not a star still we could use him. I don't really like him but we need big. If Perry Jones slip to us that would be great i would risk with that guy but i'm not taking my chances with Leonard and Zeller i don't like their games at all. Bigs who will be great players but won't slip to us are obviously Anthony Davis and Jared Sullinger.

Players who i like to draft them:

Perry Jones - slim chances of him slipping to us. Big chances of becaming a bust but playing around KG will make him bust or beast. Biggest potential on this draft with Bradley Beal and Andre Drummond.

Terrence Jones - 6'9 smart all around player who can fit in with this celtics. He is not consistent that could be a problem but otherwise ha can rebound shoot score pass block very solid player.

Moe Harkless - good size, athletic good defender, some people compare him to Paul Pierce

Tony Wroten - we don't really need him so i don't think DA will draft him but this guy is going to a really good player. Combo guard, combination of Tyreke Evans and Rodney Stuckey. 6'5 strong body.

Second round pick:

Quincy Acy - Did someone watch Kentacky Baylor final four game? Acy was playin like a lion. No fear at all. Great energy great strenth. But only 6'6 and i know we need size but this guy plays with heart. With 6'6 he was scoring all his points in the paint not fearing Anthony Davis (best blocker in ncaa) Terrence Jones, Kidd-Gilchrist... He was atacking and scoring inside. That guy is the new Leon Powe. Heart and energy everyone loves thatkind of player. He can became very good 15min role player like Leon was in 2008.

Henson worked with Rasheed Wallace all of last summer and though his FT% didn't improve all that much his midrange and post moved improved dramatically.  He can shoot from about 15 feet out, can use both hands in the post, and some real nice baby hooks.  I truly believe his FT shooting is just in his head.  Like you mentioned above though, you can't judge Henson on his stats.  His stats were very similar the last two seasons but his offense was MUCH improved this year.
