I wonder if David Stern will ever reach out to him for some type of rookie symposium speaking engagement.  That might help with the whole 'silver-lining' thing...

It was with the Heat so my reaction is "blah"

He probably had to sell his Kentucky ring too (they get college rings too, right?).  Probably not as valuable in raw materials, but I'm sure there's a much bigger, more loyal Kentucky following than Miami.  I wonder what that went for (if there is one).

This kind of thing is interesting though.  Being a big basketball fan, I think basketball memorabilia would be pretty cool to own.  If I had $20k-$30k extra just lying around, I might consider buying a 2008 Celtics ring instead of a toy like a new boat or car or something.  That is as long as it's from one of the starting 5, especially Pierce.  Somehow showing off a C's championship ring previously owned by Scott Pollard doesn't sound as glamorous.

If Walker won that with the C's, that would definitely be pretty cool to own though.

His situation is definitely sad and he brought most of it on himself, however what I also find sad is where are his boys?! Michael Jordan was a very very close friend of his and they did a lot of things together for years. He has unreal amounts of money. How about a little help for his friend. I'm not saying the guy should completely pay off the million he is in debt necessarily, but would even that be a big deal at all for the man? Where is Pierce? Those two were also very close. A collection of a few of his friends to help the guy out wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. I can't imagine letting my boy stay in that position if I had the means to do something about it. Either he really didn't have any friends, or they are the selfish people that we see flashes of in the media here and there...

By "Gollom," do you mean LeBron James?  Only way he's going to get a Heat championship ring.
