Pierce restructures his contract from 2 years at $34 million to 3 years at $39 million, starting with $12 million next season.

Bass opts in on his $4M player option, with the knowledge a big extension is coming.

Grab Mayo for $5m, retain Green for $3.5 and sign McGee for $8.5m. Re-sign Ray and KG for $5m per season for the next 3 seasons.

Starter:
Rondo - Mayo - Green - Bass - Mcgee

Rotation:
Allen - Pierce - Garnett

That feels like a contender. No top flight player, but sort of in the mold of the old Detoit teams. Deep, uniquely strong bench, good defense.

Throw in Bradley, Moore, Johnson, Stiemsma, 2 2012 first rounders and a 2012 second rounder and you have a bunch of 19-22 years olds backing up your 25-27 year old starters and your 35+ bench.
"All I have to know is, he's my coach, and I follow his lead. He didn't have to say anything in here this week. We all knew what we had to do. He's a big part of our family, and we're like his extended family. And we did what good families do when one of their own is affected." - Teddy Bruschi
