So if the nets win the lottery and have a shot at the manbrow or drummond

do you think they'd still go after howard?

I think that Dwight will already be on the Nets by the draft. In which case I think that pick will go to Orlando.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

If you get a chance to sign a superstar, you sign him.  The Nets would take Howard without hesitation.

If they get the #1 it would guarantee a deal with Orlando. The Magic would easily be able to sell their fans on the hope of the #1 overall pick.

It's likely ORL's

They don't have a choice, but to trade D12 unless he commits by Thursday or take an unwarranted huge risk that he walks.

Why would the Nets do a deal at that point, though?  If Howard is saying that he's going to sign with the Nets regardless, they'd have no leverage to demand the #1 pick in a S&T.

can't they just sign him outright? if he opts out, he's a UFA, right?

Dwight wants to be a Net, but he doesn't want the Nets to give up any assets to get him.  He wants to join a team with Deron, Brook, Marshon, the #1 pick, the #15 pick, etc...

I think right now Dwight is trying to convince Orlando that he'll stick around so that they don't give up assets... he's 100% leaving them for the Nets in the offseason if the the Magic keep him through the end of the year... and if the Magic are too stupid to see that, everyone in the organization needs to be fired.

They have two days to get some assets for that piece of crap.  I'm leaning towards him being a Laker by Thursday night.  Right where that punk belongs.
