With Diaw completely on the outs in Charlotte (rumored to be bought out after the deadline if they can't find a taker), Odom on shaky ground in Dallas and prognostications pointing JO being a buyout/retirement candidate, doesn't the following deal make some sense for all the parties involved?
Boston sends: JO, Moore, Stiemsma
Boston receives: Lamar Odom, Cory Higgins (waived)
Dallas sends: Lamar Odom
Dallas receives: Boris Diaw
Charlotte sends: Boris Diaw, Cory Higgins
Charlotte receives: JO (bought out), Moore, Stiemsma
Boston gets a frontcourt player with speed, skill, length and defense/rebounding ability. Also frees up a pair of roster spots.
Dallas gets a capable forward to fill Odom's role for their playoff run while being spared the $2.4 mil in money/cap space in Odom's buyout.
Charlotte gets to save a couple million right away (potentially more with a JO buyout/retirement) and adds a couple of cheap, low-level prospects for their troubles.
