Love Millsap, but he's not worth Rondo.

Bass, Bradley and one of our 2012 picks would be my best offer for Millsap.

I'm not sure Rondo is worth Millsap, honestly.

My goodness, Pos.  Coming so soon after your Ray/Bass for Jones/Hansbrough proposal, it seems like you've set the "realistic" bar for trade scenarios  ridiculously low.  Managing expectations applies to pessimism as well as optimism, right?

I think the rule of thumb is that whatever most Celtics fans think a player is worth, NBA GMs value that player a fair amount less.

Everything I've read outside of this site suggests that NBA GMs are generally not super keen on taking on Rondo (just today I read that many teams are concerned with the effect he'd have on team chemistry).

With respect to Ray, there have been reports from reliable sources (Wojnarowski) that teams aren't even willing to give up better than a 2nd round pick for Ray alone.

There are far more reliable means of assessing value than polling Celtics fans and subtracting x.

That Rondo has been selected to 3 consecutive all-star teams by non-Celtic fans while the older Millsap has yet to make one would suggest that he has much greater esteem around the league than Millsap.

No way the Celtics get Favors.  Part of the reason to move Millsap is to open up more time for Favors and Kanter.

Agreed. I'm actually a Jazz fan and came across this forum.  I know that on our part (as Jazz fans) we would like to see Rondo out here.  That being said, there is a fear here that Rondo wouldn't be happy about playing in Utah (nobody really is).  From what I see, you guys need a Center and Jefferson would be best. He is a fantastic in the low post and would work well with Garnett.  One trade i've seen thrown out there is Rondo,Allen for Jefferson,Miles.  What do you guys think?

I think that would imply most Celtics fans have a much higher opinion of a player's worth than the average poster here. But the reality is that people here don't know what players are worth but love to claim that they have unsubstantiated rumors that bolster their opinions. There were probably zero people here who thought, when we lost the lottery, that we had enough assets to get KG and RA without giving up PP/RR/Perk. I doubt that people are that much more educated now than they were then.
