Just had a thought ( I know it involves alot of what ifs)

If D Howard is singed as a FA by the Nets and there isn't a S&T done deal between orlando and the Nets involving B Lopez then do the Celtics offer him near max contract?

Lopez is absolutely not worth a max contract.

Yes -- Brook Lopez should be the top target in FA after Dwight Howard.

IMO there is no way the Nets will allow him to hit the open market.  He's a young asset they won't let him get away for nothing...

If they sign dwight without sign and trading Lopez then they wont have a choice but to let Lopez walk in FA.

The only way Lopez doesn't go to Orlando is if NJ lands Howard as a FA.  any trade would have to send Lopez to Orlando, no other real talent to send them.

Lopez is absolutely not worth a max contract.
I feel like of the restricted free agents there will be a bunch that are overpaid due to the lack of good unrestricted free agents. I agree that he probably won't get a max contract but I expect him and McGee to get contracts larger than anticipated.
