No.  And with injuries, frequency of games, competition and travel I could easily see the Celtics heading into the trade deadline at minimum 5 games under .500 fighting the Cavs and the Bucks for the 8th seed.

Right now, this team may is only marginally closer to a playoff berth than they are a lottery pick.

As an 8th seed, could the Celtics upset Miami or Chicago ?

like any real fan, i am not easily giving up on our team, like what we say back here in the philippines, the ball is round..anything can happen, as long as we are in the hunt for that final spot in the playoffs, upper tier teams can never take us, the celtics, for granted...

i dont think we could beat chicago or miami in a 7 game series, however, the celtics are one of those teams that chicago and miami might not want to play in the opening round (a veteran team, defensive minded, championship experience, and a history of "turning it on" for the playoffs).

Have you actually been watching the games or smokin weed and looking at the box-scores? The old guys are breaking down left and right, after another 30+ games they will be is worse shape. Even if they were somehow all healthy going into the playoffs we would be lucky to make it to a game 4.

We have a better chance of upsetting Chicago... But we really need some interior presence.. If we can't get help for KG inside, it's 'fishing' time!

If they play like they have been than no.

But yes they absolutely can if they play better.

You don't know until the playoffs start. Is Rondo going to take over a series? Is Lebron going to choke? Are our guys going to be clicking on all cylinders?

Teams will still have to play well, make shots play good defense to beat us ESPECIALLY if we get it together. Yeah if we play like we have been playing than we will be the equivalent to a real 8th seed but who knows.

People act like we've seen as good as our team can play. Do people really believe that? If we played great all these nights and were losing I would feel a lot more worse. But when it feels like our guys are high as kite out there and are playing like drunken 18 year olds I just can't really tell how good they can be.

If I'm going off of last year though I think we can be better than that or close to it and I'll take that every year. Rondo messing up his arm, Pierce getting thrown out of a game, Pierce and KG botching an end of game play, rondo missing a wide open layup, Lebron and wade hitting clutch after clutch after clutch  3.

You still have to go out there and win the games. Nothing is set in stone no matter how pessimistic you can be. Thats why there are odds on teams, thats why 1st place doesn't get you a bye.

I think it's more naive to think that we can't win than to think we can
