Boston trades Pierce & Allen for Deng + LAL 1st rounder.
Chicago moves Boozer & Deng for Gasol & Allen (+ Korver for a trade exception).
LA gets Pierce and Boozer for Gasol.

We get the rebuilding started - Deng makes $3M less than Pierce next year, we get another 1st rounder, he fits with Rondo, we lose a little more right now.

Both Allen & Pierce get to go to contenders that need help at their positions. SG is the Bull's weakest position, and Lakers have been starting the horrible World Peace at SF.

Chicago finally gets a SG (how on earth do you cover Allen with Rose running the point?) plus Gasol. Rose / Allen / Brewer / Gasol / Noah I think is even more lethal than their lineup with Deng and Boozer because they finally have spacing, and Gasol easily better than Boozer.

Lakers get much needed depth, Kobe + Pierce + Boozer + Bynum in starting lineup.

  • Rondo = Good
I think it's a pretty terrible trade for Chicago, honestly.

How so? I see Gasol as a large upgrade over Boozer: Rose + Gasol I think become a top-3 duo in the league. And Allen is stepping into that team's primary weakness.

I guess it depends a lot on your view of Gasol. To me, he's the only star in the whole deal... two dimes for a quarter and a nickel.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.

Chicago is way more likely to say yes than LA.
Chicago loses Deng, but they dump Boozers garbage contract and get Gasol plus a 2 guard. Move Rip to the 3 spot and Ray at the two..

Lakers say no, they are losing one of the best big men in the league for an overpaid, defensively inept, inconsistent forward, and a 34/35 year old Celtic on his decline.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I'd rather have Gasoft! I don't like him doesn't mean he stinks!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Why would CHI town tinker with a solid roster.  I can see them upgrading the two spot or SG as some call it but not PF.

Because if you have a chance to get Gasol you try to get him..simple as that. That's not even counting the fact of Boozer's horrible contract, or how he disappears in the playoffs EVERY year. Is he really an inside scorer? Is Noah a consistent inside scorer or even a threat down low to score? Gasol can get it down low and finish, and he can put it in from a distance with some of his nifty moves..Boozer is just a fade away/rainbow shot. When he tries to take it inside he tries to lay it in soft like the cupcake he is and complains profusely when he doesn't get a foul called. I'm not really a fan of Gasol but I'd take him over Boozer any day of the week.

Also regarding their 2: They have Rip Hamilton..he's just been on the bench, injured for most of the year.

You absolutely lost me on trading Paul Pierce to the Lakers. Lets not go there, anymore.

Sorry but they have chemistry now.  I think a lot of the league sees Gasol as a whiner. Gasol  is what 30?   The Bulls are built to compete for the next few years I just don't see them doing this trade.   They have a winning record now and arguebly are the best team in the east why would they mess with that?

Keep it simple pierce to lakers for trade exception and 2 first round picks.
Allen to Chicago for first round pick and T Gibson
Garnett to Houston for 2 first round picks and players to be selected by Houston.

That I could live with, getting rid of the old guys is a priority but I hate to see PP go.   I would like to see JO go though.
