I think if Dwight Howard isn't traded at the deadline its worth rolling the dice to maintain cap room for him. Its a slight chance that he'd come here, but the home run is worth more than a few late round picks we're likely to pick up in such trades.

If he's traded to a place he'll stay then its worth getting picks if you've decided that you don't want to try a low seeded playoff run.

The only thing deal I really see working would be to convince a bad team to take  Garnett as a salary dump. We would then take back either a really bad contract or 2-3 smaller bad ones. In exchange for doing that, the C's would get a couple of good young players and/or draft picks.

This would be a repeat of the first Antione Walker trade, the worst move of Danny's tenure that tied our hands for several years of cap hell with mediocre players.

I agree with you but you'll have a hard time finding 20 people on here that do. People don't understand the concept of not getting lottery picks for the big 3. The only teams that would do that are teams that have a legit shot at a title. I came across one trade where Garnett would go to Cleveland for Jamison and a 1st. But why would Cleveland do that? They'll be at best an 8th seed and KG will be going elsewhere next year or retiring.

Excellent point! TP
