He's inconsistently decent when he can shoot off the dribble but he can't spot up.

Kobe's the best at defending him because he doesn't give Rondo enough space to dribble and shoot but leaves him open enough so he has to shoot.

  The Celts beat the Lakers once in the finals and almost beat them the other time they met. Rondo's had some pretty good games against them. The "Kobe defense" works at times, fails at other times.


Agreed. I would have to think the bigger problem with the Kobe defense is that it must imply that one of their PGs is able to effectively defend the SG position. Throw Pietrus or Daniels out there, and I think the Kobe defense breaks down.
