The guy I think we should pursue this offseason is Spencer Hawes. He'll actually be unrestricted and I think he could provide a good paint presence with Rondo.

And depending on what happens with NJN and D12, we could also look at Brook Lopez.

Hawes is playing really good, and would be a good addition. Double-double guy in points and rebounds, can block shots and still young and has room to grow more. The question being is, how much will he command. 8-9 million a year? That might be too much.

Exactly. It'd be putting the cart before the horse. You get your stars of thr future first, then role players, not the other way around.

I do think that Anderson has legitimate star potential with a reasonable expectation of being better than Rashard Lewis in his prime in Seattle but not as good as Kevin Love.

Anderson is easily a better choice than trying to acquire Al Jefferson or Javale McGee, two names who get tossed around by some fans here as possible targets.

Two reasons why I would go after Ryan Anderson if I wanted to sign a restricted free agent is that a) Otis Smith is an idiot and b) the Dwight Howard situation may put the Magic in a situation where they are reluctant to match.  Then again, Smith could hand Anderson a max contract.

I believe that Anderson is worth at least the four-year $43 million offer sheet that DeAndre Jordan received this past off-season.  I would rather take Anderson over Jordan for that money.  I wouldn't give Jordan that contract if he were available.
