Even still, expect to see smaller lineups, including possible work for Sullinger at the 5. "I’m comfortable with Jared at the 5 or 4," said Rivers. "We just have to get him to play with a better motor."

I'm as big a Sully fan as there is, and don't want to over-analyze this. Maybe Doc wants Sully playing like the new super-hyped up Brandon Bass. Makes sense, that's where most of Sully's minutes would come from.

I wonder if Sully was coasting in practice or wasn't passionate in the first game. I know he didn't aggressively call for the ball from the post.

Probably just pumping his rookie up to have a big game tonight.

Doc loves to do things like this.  He has a way of calling guys out (particularly young guys) in a subtle way like this, to get a point across, and motivate them.

Sounds like: get in better shape.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

I like the idea of playing sully at 5 especially against teams with smaller centers. Sully is our best rebounder, put him in there with a small ball lineup and let him outlet to start the fast break. Example Sully,Green,Lee,Terry,Rondo.

When teams go small to match this lineup they end up with less interior defenders. This gives Sully more room in the post and less shot blockers to worry about.

Yeah, better shape and better close outs defensively.

I am worried about Sullinger getting enough minutes with Jeff Green playing PF minutes.

Sounds like a defensive greyhound lineup. Put in Barbosa for Rondo to knock down the trailer threes :D I can see this working a lot of the time and preserving KG and Pierce (and Rondo for that matter) to battle with the big boys.
