I think he would be a better option at starting Center then JO. We could offer JO and maybe a future pick for him. Cavs have good young bigs and would probably welcome the Cap space at the end of the year. Would you like to see anderson varejao come to Boston? He is a decent defender and a rough player.

He'd be a much better option than Jermaine O'Neal. I'm not sure Cleveland is going to put him on the market however, they'd likely demand a lot from the C's.

Cleveland don't really need any more cap space than they already have.  Given how productive Irving has been early, they may be valuing Andy as part of their mid-term core and look to add pieces around him and Irving.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

If they traded him it would be for the picks/players not cap space.

Varejao would be a fantastic fit on this current C's team.  He is a rough and tumble player, much like Perk.  He wouldn't have much value on the team going into a rebuilding phase though, as he's approaching 30 years-old.

However, the Cavs would only trade him this season for picks or young, promising players like JaJuan Johnson.  They don't need O'Neal or his expiring cap space.

The Celts desperately need to keep their picks (for now), but if Ainge could swing JaJuan + filler for Varejao in order to be better right now, then I'd say 'Do it!'
