Have Green start at the 2. He has the athleticism for it and could overwhelm other 2s on both ends.

Rondo, Green, PP to start. Not a bad 1-2-3.

Bradley (if still here) Ray, Pietrus and Bass (any and all if signed) off the bench. That's a real decent bench.

Our problem is the starting 4/5. Who those people will be is anybody's guess.

??? you realize Greens 6 9

magic was a 6'9 point guard
paul george is a 6'9 SG

TP. Took the words right out of my mouth...thanks

Celtics look at Green as a small forward not a power forward. As of right now Boston is going into '12-13 with:

Rondo, Moore
Bradley
Pierce
Johnson

then

Brandon Bass (team option for 4.25 Mill)

That's 35.5 Million assuming Bass's option is picked up.

I think if Ray and KG walk Pierce should continue to start at the SF (assuming a big name isn't signed). Then Green comes off the bench because he'll have not played basketball in a year.

Celtics SHOULD go after a shooting guard in the offseason, if they can't sign one they should look to sign Ray to a one year deal or let him walk.

We need also a decent center besides a decent shooting guard. So how about that?

PG: Rajon Rondo
SG: O.J. Mayo
SF: Paul Pierce
PF: Jeff Green/Brandon Bass
C: Roy Hibbert

Reserves: Avery Bradley, E'Twaun Moore, veteran SG (if possible Ray Allen), Jeff Green/Brandon Bass, Greg Stiemsma plus first rounders

Let Bass and Green battle for the 6th-man/PF spot.

I think Green a reason why the C's wont trade PP for an other SF. PP can start the next year, Green can come back slowly and start to take over the mantle from PP.

I don't like him as a full time PF, but in a small line up he would rock. Or go huge and throw him in at the 2 spot.

I don't think he's what you build around your team, but he's a heck of a Robin for a Batman that is willing to come here.

Bass is a player option; the way he's playing, he'll definitely decline and sign a new deal.

He'll get  more than what BBD got.  I'm thinking 4 years 30 million.  We should re-sign him.

HOw much money are you giving OJ Mayo, Jeff Green, Brandon Bass and Roy Hibbert?  YOu have 25 million total.  Go!

Here's a hint... Hibbert is a restricted free agent.  You probably will want to offer him a max deal (starting at 14.5 mil) and hope Indiana doesn't match.

That gives you 10.5 mil total to split amongst Jeff Green, Mayo and Bass.

Bass is not going to be less than 4 mil... that gives you 6.5 mil for Mayo (restricted) and Green.

Lolfail.

Sorry if this was an total unrealstic post. Quiet frankly im a european dude who has no clue about the cap space rules. Im new to this forums and i still try to figure out what are quality posts, regarding how to use cap space.

So 25 million is the number but how can i rate the value of a free agent in the nba? Honestly i've no idea how to get the right number but i'll try.

Green: max 6 million (1 year injured)
Bass: 4.3 million player option
Hibbert and Mayo: i'd double the current contracts or even a bit more. so Mayo 10 million and Hibbert 8 million.

ok now i feel really dumb ... but how can i assess the contract value for mayo and/or hibbert?

so my question 3 of those 4 ? mayo, green and hibbert? would that be realistic ?

PF!?  Oh, hell no.  He has no business on our roster - but if he can make the cut, he'll come off the bench

If you missed ORL MON game telecast on Comcast, Wyc Grousbeck joined in for some color commentary. He mentioned the Jeff Green situation was a big blow to the team and that he was being considered as a starter this year, not for Pierce, but for Ray.
