We'll see if he signs.  Rumors last month were that he gave them a deadline of a few weeks ago to offer a max extension, or else he would wait a year until unrestricted free agency.

While it's true he risks injury, I don't think it's a big deal.  Firstly, teams have been very willing to pay large amounts for players with significant injury -- short of losing a limb I don't think there is much that will scare most teams away from Love.  It wouldn't scare me away.  Secondly, these players (or their agents) often take out insurance policies in walk years against major injuries that cost them salary, so the risk of taking the qualifying offer and then hitting unrestricted free agency is quite low to the player, especially to someone like Love.

All that said, while I would hope Boston puts on the full-court press should they ever have the opportunity, I would be surprised if he ended up anywhere other than the West Coast, where he is from, or Minnesota.

I think we bid him up to Minn....call them on it, make em pay out the rearend to keep him ... never know ...helpem screwup their future.

Danny should be cracking open his piggy bank and sell his Limo to get Love.

The T-Wolves would probably love to see some other team sign Love to an offer sheet because then they can match and pay him less on a contract that is one year shorter.  See the way Houston did the Grizzlies a favor by signing Marc Gasol to an offer sheet that allowed Memphis to save money by matching instead of their own offer.

You guys know free agency doesn't work like a waiver wire, right?  You don't just claim Kevin love with a max contract and hope Minny doesn't match...   Kevin Love has to WANT to be a Celtic.  The guy was born and raised in LA.  He went to school in UCLA.  Why in the heck would he want to come to the Celtics?

Waste of thought.  Even if he DID want to come here and even if we DID offer him a max deal... Paint me a picture of an insane world where the Timberwolves let arguably the best PF in the league (at age 23) simply walk away for nothing instead of locking him up for the long term by matching?

COmeonnnnnn...  Lets not go full retard.

Now... if Love makes it CLEAR he wants out and is only willing to sign a one year deal (making him unrestricted in 2013), we can talk about it.  But even then... why Boston??  Timberwolves would be in a Chris Paul situation where they would be shopping him all next year to the highest bidder... and only teams Love was interested in would be playing along.

BTW... The Lakers already offered Pau Gasol for Kevin Love.  They will probably end up getting both Love (for Pau) and Dwight (for Bynum) if those guys decide they want out.

I'm going to throw some more ice on you guys.

Kevin Love was born and raised in Santa Monica.  Went to school at UCLA.  His father, Stan Love, played for the Lakers in 1974.  Stan Love also was a Los Angeles native born in raised.  In fact, Stan Love's older brother is Mike Love of the Beach Boys... and Stan Love's cousins are Brian, Carl and Dennis Wilson (Of the Beach Boys)...

Kevin's favorite team growing up was the Lakers.  His favorite player was Shaq.  It really doesn't get any more LA than this guy.

Meanwhile.. the Lakers are infatuated with him.  They already offered Pau Gasol for him.  They'd LOVE to have him and reportedly will do everything they can to get him.

Can you all now shut up about him, please?  Thanks

Count me amongst those who think you could have Rondo OR Love but not both, and expect to win a title.

But I think he ends up in about three other places before Boston.
