This is so unbelievable...you can't expect guys in their first year of the NBA to play like Chris Paul and Lebron James.  Especially guys who were not high draft picks in the first place.  It is still too early to make judgements on any of these guys.
Bradley- may be limited offensively, but is one of the best defenders on this team (if not the NBA).  The offense will eventually come, as will other aspects of his game.
Moore- the guy is a rookie who missed out on summer league and a full training camp.  He's played in like 5 games with limited minutes and i've been quite impressed with what he has done.  His shots have not always fallen but he's gotten great looks and they will start to fall
Stiemsma- Greg has been great with his limited playing time
JJJ- Jajuan has gotten action in maybe 3 games.  And while he needs time  to get bigger and more physical, his athleticism and quickness will compensate for his thin frame.
Please don't be so quick to dismiss the rookies when you have seen so little of their potential.

Exactly. We are talking about ROOKIES. Not superstars.. And yes, Bradley is a great lockdown defender, Moore is a guy I see backing up Rondo next year.. Eddie House type ish(?). JaJuan just needs time, and become bigger. He has huge potential.
Doc's gonna tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

Yeah iknow, my username is Kendrick Perkins and my ranking is Jeff Green. Ironic huh?

First, I agree in a way.  If Doc won't play the rooks significant minutes, what use are they?  Not that I don't believe they can't become decent NBA players, but you can't without getting a rythem   to your game.  It can't be done in one and three minute stints.  Getting yanked after one mistake or one missed shot!
We let the veterans play on after endless mistakes, missed shots and missed assignments....but not the younguns'.
Hopefully, once Doc realizes his pipe dream of this team returning to glory is gone...he'll come to his senses....or more likely Danny will tell him...START PLAYING THE YOUNG GUYS!!

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
to the OP.
Do you think any of these rookies will see a single minute (Bradley included) once our playoff rotation is set?

Rondo
Ray
Pierce
KG
Jermaine

Dooling
Marquis
Pietrus
Wilcox
Bass

Even Marquis is going to struggle to get minutes.
None of the worthless 'bums' you mention will get a single minute if the above guys I've listed are healthy.

Wilcox and Dooling have light injuries and what you are saying about Dooling is incorrect. Have you seen how many threes he has hit for us this year?

You're crying about some disaster that hasn't even happened yet.

The only one who might get a few minutes is Steimsma and that's because of JO's questionable injury history (JO will probably go down at some point for a small time).

Take a deep breath and think about how many minutes these kids will get at all in the crunch time.
Answer= NADA.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

This teams doesn't need to get older it needs to get younger.

Every game the opposing team has better, younger, stronger, quicker athletes at four of five starting spots.  Even if our youngsters aren't very good right now when Doc actually inserts their younger legs and energy into games it makes the entire product look more viable.  We don't get lose balls because Rondo is the only guy we start that ever has any kind of athletic/quickness advantage over his counter part.  We get killed on the glass because our old BIGs have no lift and even when they actually box out the opposing BIGS just go over the top of them for rebounds.  Our help defense is miles from where it was a short few years ago.  We have stretches where we almost resemble the title contenders of the recent past but we cannot sustain them due to old legs.

Bringing in vets at this point would be putting a band aid on a bullet wound.

Trade them for who? You know that not a lot of non lottery picks are picking up the NBA style of game in 11 games.

As much as I somewhat disagree with the draft picks the past couple of years with our bunch of rookies, they are rookies who have potential to be helpful, but they'll need some time. They're not John Wall or Derrick Rose who are gifted and just super talented that they can pick it up right away. And even they had some ups and downs on their rookie years. And it's rare to find someone like (i hate to say this) MarShon Brooks or as of right now, Chandler Parson who can adjust right away. But they benefit from mediocre play of the guys above them since they have no depth, which we have which is why they cant get any minutes yet.

Most rookies need time to learn and adapt to the speed and physicality of the pro's. Give 'em time. Unless you can find a feasible deal for Bradley, JJJ and Moore and get a useful guy then I'm all ears.
