The Celtics were not prepared to start the season. That much is evident. KG and PP were doing too much politicking at the Union Hall in New York. They ought to run for president/VP in 2012 instead of trying to play basketball old, solw and out of shape.
Danny made a panic move last year when he traded Perkins. He lost both of his key trade components - one to the Russian league, the other to Heart disease.
He flopped out his entire bench. Doc Rivers did not have time to get everyone on the same page.
As a result, we are struggling horribly right now and by the time this team gets it act together it may well be way too late.
Now I know there is a ton of trade ideas out there and not one is realistic at this time. So I think we are stuck with who we have.
It is on the players to step up and show their pride and compete each and every game to the best of their ability. I expect to have a lot more difficult nights like the last three home games.
Danny tried to put a team together but, the sad fact remains that the Celtics may simply not be good enough this year. I hope that they can stay together. I suppose that time will tell. We should have kept Delonte West, We could have had David West, We could have had Chris Paul...... None of this happened. Paul Pierce is clearly hurting. There are many other players hurting. Doc may have to resort to Avery Bradley, Keyon Dooling, Etaune Moore, JJJ, and Stiesma by the time they make it to Charlotte in April (That would be their only back to back to back nights).
But I will keep following them until they are mathematically eliminated for title competition.
