Sasha played very well defensively

He has one good play other than that he was unimpressive.  One play does not a good game make.  I am sorry the box score does not reflect what you claim

1-4 FG shooting and 1 STL, 2 boards and 2 Points in 21 minutes is not going to cut it.  I remind you this was against the Raptors not exactly a team with great forwards.  With that production how will he do against teams with real small forwards.   The Raptor guy equaled or exceeded his score.  Their SF had 1-4 shooting and 7 boards and 4 points.   We lost this matchup.  The rebound disparity is large and seven possessions I might add.

I think Toronto does not have a good SF rather than him playing defense.   Do you really want me to post past seasons of PP torching him?   The myth of his defense is unfounded. He is not a good player at any level.

I don't hate Sasha but I do think he is a weak link for our team and ineffective.   Celtics are my favorite team but I lived in Ohio for 9 of the last 10 years and seen many Cavs games.   I have never thought he brought much to the table and I think I would wager I have seen more of his game than you, Celtics18.

Makes me wonder why they cut Gilbert Brown who did just as 'well' and went for a huge dunk attempt in the end (precisely what we need, sparks off the bench).

Brown has a ways to go before he is even on Sasha's level offensively.  He is a better one on one defender (and Sasha is no slouch defensively), but overall, Sasha is just more reliable at this point.

I think they will keep an eye on Brown, as he develops in the NBDL, and perhaps bring him back when he is more ready.  But, given the questionable health of Pierce, and Daniels injury history, you really need to have a guy like Sasha, who may not give you a ton, but you know you can count on him to know the system, play defense, and not make too many mistakes offensively.  Essentially, he is a wing version of Scal.  Not exciting, but incredibly valuable at the end of the bench of a contender.

Yeah, same here.  I think we need the greater depth on the wing than up front.  I am kind of hoping we keep Stiemsma though.  He has looked like a very solid defender, and I just don't trust Przybilla can stay on the court.

If we signed a big like Pryzbilla I think it's a given that he'd be injured as often as JO, so I'd think twice before cutting Stiemsma.

I would want Pietrus but next target would be a big who can rebound and play D, or a young big with potential.

Pietrus should backup Pierce with Daniels either pg job with Dooling or SG.

We should give Stiesma behind Bass and Wilcox a chance until we can find a quality/reliable big.

Cut Sasha and sign House once we lock up Pietrus.

House scored 6.5 ppg last year in 17 minutes play time with .38%  three point range.  He is a better shooter and scorer than Sasha.   He could add pop to the second unit and relegate Bradley to defensive situations.  He knows the system too.

Pietrus is a better player than Sasha.    This would help us.

I'm guessing you've likely seen more of Sasha Pavlovic than I have.  I was just making a comment that he played solid defense in that Toronto pre season game.  I stand by that argument based on watching the game.

It wasn't just the one obvious play where he jumped the passing lane for a steal and breakaway dunk.  He played good man and help D when he was in there.

I'm not saying the guy's a star player by any means, but I think he can fit in well, play solid D, and knock down some shot when needed.

Let's just be real, here. Eddie House would be a much better chest bump guy than Sasha while they both sat in suits all season.

mid season move is very possible especially thru FA

maybe signing j.r smith or wilson chadler & move petrus to a primary back up 2

or sign a big like pryzbilla after the holidays

i'd try & trade dooling & bradley for an exception or a pick to make room for those guys
