People bashing the Clippers for this deal...I am LOLing.

I mean you were a bottom feeding team with Eric Gordon, so why not trade him for a HoF player and just continue to keep sucking and continue to give Blake Griffin more reason to leave when the time arrives.

A lot of people underrating Ben Gordon and overrating Eric Gordon...and it has a lot to do with age.

If Ben was given starters minutes and not miss-used like he has been for his whole career (especially in Detroit) he would be putting up even much better #'s than he already has. (Think 20/5/5 with high efficiency).

Eric Gordon's efficiency is going to suffer....massively. He's playing next to no one.

I will really start to feel for the kid early next season, but more and more fans are going to overrate this kid even more when he's scoring 25-28ppg on 41% shooting for a losing team.

Why were they a bottom feeder ?  Was it because of Eric Gordon ?  Griffin ?

Did depth play a roll in it at all ?

So you add an all star PG while giving up the farm.  At best, how many more wins are you getting ?

You can LOL all you want, but we've heard this story with the Clippers time and time again.

"Time and time again" the Clippers have never added a special HoF PG to their team.

When the Clippers did upgrade their PG position with Sam Cassell, they went to the playoffs.

You give up a nice young scoring guard and add a HoF PG who basically makes B. Griffin and Andre Jordon much better because Paul is a passer and not a scorer....this team is going places if they remain healthy.

It wouldn't surprise me if they go to the WCF and quite possibly beat the Mavs or Thunder.

I am very well aware that it isn't just one player that makes a team great or crappy. The biggest reason why the Clippers struggled last year was because they played without a leader and they played without a leader out WEST.

So how many more wins with this move ?  Who else are you signing ?  You're not going with that type of depth, are you ?

They gave up a quality young guard, plus an unprotected pick in a deep draft. A Minnesota pick, for that matter.  Two quality young player's, not just one.

When you make a move like this, you better hope it's your team that goes places, and not Chris Paul after this season.

I am just glad the Lakers didn't get him.  I never thought I would say I didn't mind that LA got him.

As part of the trade, Paul had to agree not to opt out of his contract.  The Clippers own his rights for the next two seasons.

Not a bad trade at all.  Awesome trade.

Gordon is ok, but he's a 6'3 shooting guard (sorta undersized) ... young, good shooter.  He's ok.

Kaman wasn't going to play anyways.  They want to play DeAndre Jordan at Center.

No telling what that draft pick will be.

Meanwhile they get the second coming of Isiah Thomas... by far the best point guard in the league.  A top 5 player who is only 26 years old.   CP and Blake is like newage Stockton and Malone.  It's going to be epic.  Maybe my new favorite non-Celtic team to watch right there.

Clippers

PG: Chris Paul/Mo Williams/Eric Bledsoe
SG: Randy Foye/Chauncey Billups/Willie Warren
SF: Caron Butler/Ryan Gomes
PF: Blake Griffin/Trey Thompkins
C: DeAndre Jordan

They also have a bunch of D-Leaguers signed at the moment but my guess is they will add a center to back up Jordan and another PF. Names like Craig Smith, Leon Powe, Erick Dampier, Reggie Evans, Joe Smith and others will be filling out the rest of this roster.

I think that's a pretty deep and talented roster. Can they put it all together with a 10 day training camp and short season? I don't know but I wouldn't bet against them making the playoffs and making some noise in the playoffs, much like Memphis did last season.

People here are 1)underestimating how good CP3 is 2) overestimating how good Eric Gordon is 3) overestimating the value of that future pick which, unless it becomes the #1 pick in the draft, will probably amount to nothing.

enough said.

Drummond, Barnes, and Davis all have the potential to be franchise guys. Guys like Sullinger and Jones III have the potential to be multiple all stars. There is also other all star caliber players in the draft like Rivers, etc. This pick is very valuable.

If I am the Clippers I run with Paul this year, and unless he agrees to sign a long term extension I move him in the offseason to the a team for a couple more picks and/or players. They know Paul isn't staying with them and that would be a great way to recoup what they lost. A team with a title chance not named NY would likely jump at the chance to get him for a year just like this offseason. Its a no lose situation for them.

I think they'd start Chauncey ahead of Foye.

Well Chris Paul agreed to pick up his option for next year, so they have him for two years at least.

Besides New York doesn't have players that'd really work for the Clippers. They certainly wouldnt' take Amar'e or Chandler for him.

It's you.

It's NEVER a bad trade in this league if you're trading for a superstar who is on the right side of 30 unless you're giving up the same thing.

I think this is a pretty well-rounded team and could make a splash in the playoffs this year.  Chauncy will help anchor the team with experience, but it is still a young team, and may need a couple years to really meld.
