I'd rather pretty much any other big man available. Sorry, this year is not a year to waste a roster spot on a project. This is our last shot at a title for a while. We need to go all out.

when, not if, O'neal goes down this season, we are going to need a PLAYER, as in someone who can play for sure and contribute immediately. If we can get him as the 15th man at the minimum, then I'm down. But that is assuming we lock down a legitimate backup Center to O'neal. If we have to cut that taller Harangody guy, what was his name, Steimsma??? to try and develop Thabeet who's size alone gives him the insane upside to invest a roster spot, go for it. I definitely want to see at least a Kwame Brown type vet in front of him on the depth chart, who can at least hang and crash the boards and stay with a defender remotely well though.

I think it'd be wrong not to give a 7'3 Center a shot, the past is the past. He has veterans to mentor him. Could be the perfect situation. I mean who else is out there? Kwame isn't coming for 3mil guys, just face it. The few guys out there are Thabeet, Reggie Evans, Alexis Ajinca, Carl Landry, Etan Thomas, and Hilton Armstrong? We need some size and some muscle. As for guards, Redd and Douglas-Roberts would fit nicely. Think it would be possible to trade for Marreese Speights?

I think this year is the best time to get Thabeet. Why wait on some other team to develop him instead of us? We got the veterans to teach him. If he becomes useful in another team then how can you go after him later. He is very tall, young and has good mobility for his size - never awkward. He will definitely swat or change shots while manning the middle.

I would take a shot at him,we really have no other options at the Center position. Kwame likely ends up with Miami or another legit contender, Gray has signed with Toronto. He is a legit 7ft+ with really long arms. He could turn into a great shot blocker and defender if he ever gets it. KG and JO could definitely help this kids defensive development .

Get him Danny!

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
from David West to Thabeet. Kill me now.

We still only have Dooling and Marquis backing up Ray.
We need some scoring off the bench.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
