why didn't we use the amnesty on Jermaine?
Use it, we wipe Jermaine from the books, and we get West.
He must have considered it right? This would've cleared cap space.

We would've had West for 3 years and given the big 3 one last shot at a title.

I know he's worth only 6 million but should we have taken the gamble and got him here?
It would mean we gotta wait at least 6 years to use the amnesty again.

I'm thinking this was our only legitimate shot at getting a ring this year.

doesn't work that way.  that would only work if amnestying JO's contract would put us under the cap.  it wouldn't have.

Thanks for the clear up. Couldn't understand why they hadn't done it. Makes sense now.

You dont Amnesty a $6mill contract that is a complete waste

If you have a contract like Joe Johnson's then you would obviously do it in a heartbeat

Especially an expiring one

Especially if it doesn't get you under the cap

well if it did mean we could get David West on the roster, I will bet my house that Danny would think about it.
I misunderstood the use of the waiver.
There's 6 years until the next bargaining agreement talks.
If we used the amnesty on Jermaine to get David West for the next 3 of those 6 years, I think it's a gamble you should take.
