So what is your strategy?

As you all know, I am not a Jeff Green fan. However, as I was in the car and coming back from an errand, I was trying to think how I can get over this funk I am in as a result of this trade. And then it hit me:

First, I am going to pretend that Jeff Green did not play here last year and that the Celtics just got him in the offseason. This accomplishes two things: makes me forget how unimpressive he was last year and also gets me excited about adding to the roster a new player with great potential.

Second, I am really going to work hard to rid myself of all of my past impressions of Jeff Green. Right now, in my mind, he becomes the X-factor for this team. He could be that offseason free agent pickup that ends up making a difference.

This is hard for me to do, but it is all I have right now and I am really going to try to make this work for me. Otherwise, I will sit here thinking that the big moves in the offseason are Keyon Dooling (who I actually prefer over Delonte) and bringing back Marquis Daniels.

Wish me luck.

1) buy NBA league pass.  suck it up and do it.

2) watch the Thunder.  they are the only hope for the NBA.  westbrook, durant, harden, ibaka, perkins.  that's a group that could be very good.  i actually like how they match up with the lakers, even now.  becoming an OKC Thunder fan seems to be the only option.

that's all i've got.

I am really starting to get sad, but I should have known this day was coming. Anyone of any value is signing elsewhere and the Celts are looking at Keyon Dooling and Marquis Daniels. I give Danny credit for working hard and trying to put a good face on things, but.......  I really am digging down hard to make myself believe that Jeff Green is going to explode on the NBA this year and that Danny is going to find one or two other players that are a little better than the trash heap to give the team a chance this year. I think I am hoping against hope.

ugh.  ahhh yes, I remember these days.  This gonna be awful.  I remember in the mid-90's the Miami Heat was always the team I rooted for come playoff time (Zo and Jamaal Mashburn are two of my favorite all time non celtics).

this however did nothing to cure the complete state of depression I would be in when thinking of the Celtics situation.

I will say though, we are already armed with a GM and Owner that are off the charts compared to what we had back then, so hopefully this wont be as bad....or at least for not as long.

OKC will be my go-to team this year if things get too dark. I love that team.

But seriously, we have a chance. We have to be a lunchpail team. Do all the dirty work on defense and run the break.

Sure, we won't be as effective in the halfcourt as some of these superstar teams, but we may be able to put together a magical run if we get lucky with the right group of players.

My favorites to add are Josh Smith, OJ Mayo and Kevin Love.

Also, how about Austin Rivers?

Vinnie I feel the same way as you....seeing them bring in daniels and dooling is down right depressing. The thought of seeing glen Davis in a Celtics uniform is stomach turning. I am frustrated with where this team is and the season hasn't even started.
