I don't know how the specifics and rules work but is Danny able to have a meeting or conversation with Chris Paul? I'm guessing not since he isn't a FA until next year right

I believe a team can get permission to speak to a player.  Or maybe that was in the past?

Anyway, that usually occurs when both teams have agreed with the parameters of a trade.  If a trade is contingent on the player expressing interest in the new team. 

We don't seem close to that scenario here.

I hope Ray Allen isn't included in any of those deals  

If it bring back another player that might make Paul more likely to stay, I am OK with Ray being traded.
