Rondo, Green and Moore I could live with (if CP would sign an extension).  I'm ok with giving up Rondo if it gets us paul, and I'm fine with giving up moore regardless.  I'd like to be able to keep green, but if he would be expecting over 10mil a year like he seemed to be in OKC, then I wouldnt want to pay that anyway.  From that perspective (not wanting to pay a steep asking price to keep him), trading him away now gives Danny an easy way out.  It makes it look like bringing him here did have value, but it was necessary for the deal.

The thing that turns me off about all the CP3 deals I heard before, was the talk of multiple picks being included.  Going into an uncertain time with our roster next year, I really feel like our stock of picks could end up being what saves us from the rebuilding trenches.

What is our back-up trade scenario in case we don't get Rondo for Paul, Danny?

I think we have virtually committed ourselves to trading Rondo, now.
I disagree.

Relationships can be repaired if handled properly.

You tell him straight up that CP is the best point guard in the league.  He should take it as a compliment that he's being considered in trades for him.  If he disagrees with CP being the best pg in the league, then he should prove it.

Good news for us ?

great news for us!!! The Warriors are the only team that could beat the c's offer since the Clippers won't give up Gordon or Jordan , and with the c's saying they will trade for him even without an extension in place , they have to be favorites to land him!

If Curry, Gordon, and Bynum aren't available, then Rondo is by leaps and and bounds the best player available for NO to deal with.

And it makes absolute no sense for GS or LAC to offer their players without a CP extension, so I think LAL and BOS are the only teams with any legitimate chance if you assume competent ownership/management (which is a stretch).

Allegedly, Andrew Bynum is off the table for CP3.

Is it me, or does this offseason have some quotes that eerily sound like CelticsBlog Drafts?

"Want superstar point guard, willing to give up my fourth an fifth best player. Think about the depth!"

No ones willing to give up any real talent except the Celtics, and we're the long shot?

I think it's just unclear whether teams are willing or not to give up the real talent that keeps getting reported.  If these teams are willing, then we might be long shots considering NO's reported disinterest in Rondo.  If these teams are not willing (which makes most sense from their perspectives w/o an extension), then celts are favorites.

yup thought so it's looking more and more like we could land him especially if they want to avoid the Melo drama and want to get him off there hands before the season
