* Speaking of Moore, he's already knee-deep in preseason games for Benetton Treviso of Italy's Lega-Serie A. His teammates include local product Jeff Adrien and local favorite Brian Scalabrine. According to a box score in a game story posted on the team's official website Monday, Moore dropped 21 points in an exhibition win over a team from Frankfurt, Germany. The best news for Celtics fans: Moore hit 5-of-5 attempts from beyond the arc in the game, an encouraging sign about the progress of his 3-point shot (one that he undoubtedly has attempted to hone with eyes toward making the Celtics roster when NBA hoop returns).

From what I have seen/read of Moore, he is well suited to European basketball.  Good shooter, and scorer overall, with well developed skills, and a high BBIQ.  His real weakness is his lack of elite athleticism, and that won't be as much of an issue in Europe.  I think he will do well over there, and if he can't cut it in the NBA, will have a long career there.

if he can find his 3 point shot, I think he would be good to replace wafer who never really found his....the 5/5 on 3's is pretty encouraging...we need more scoring from our bench

and if he can get open, rondo will find him the ball

That's pretty cool.

Thanks for the update.
I'll be honest, my first thought when I saw this topic was "who is E'Twaun Moore?"
(insert a sigh of disappointment in self)
Please, David Stern, find a way to end this lockout soon!
Celtics fan for life.

Dan Patrick: You got room for me on a one-year deal on the bench? I could be sort of a Scalabrine type.

Kevin Garnett:  You willing to give up that body of yours, man? Scal gave up a lot. He was big for us. I know people like to crack little jokes about Scal. Scal’s in the league for a reason.

Euro trey range is  22.1 feet, NBA is 23 feet and 9 inches and that extra 22 and a half inches can really seperate the men from the boys.  I do think the NCAA three pointer is wicked easy and way too short.  It's a mere 20 feet and nine inches.

It's encouraging that he is doing so well.  But I would take it with a grain of salt.   I hope it translates but two feet extra can easily put a shot out of range for a lot of guys.  I do think he can make the roster.   Basketball IQ is a great equalizer.  Now I am not saying he is another Larry, he isn't, but he was not there in elite athletic ability and he did just fine using his hustle and basketball IQ.  Ditto for Scalbrine and a handful of others.  Desire and will are great tools on the court.

5/5 makes me really happy. We got 2 blue collar guys in this draft. While it's not the NBA, the Italian league is still a step up from college. Bradley, J.J.J. and Smooge will improve our locker room.

There are obviously 15 roster slots. 40% of 15 (pg + sg) is 6. Rondo, Moore, Bradley, and Ray are definites. Delonte makes #5.  So it appears Danny is deciding on Von Wafer, Arroyo, or someone else to be determined. Though I bet Ainge is more concerned with finding a couple traditional and healthy centers to go with JO. I think Big Baby is gone and Jeff Green returns.

Thanks for the TP. Good thing I changed my last avatar of Shaq laughing at Dancing Gino.

I know I was kind of Captain Obvious in my post. Delonte probably comes back, because Doc isn't a big believer in young players. Bradley and Moore are not going to get much Antoine Walker wiggle room from him.

Arroyo to me is too boring or mediocre. I don't want him back. I'd rather Bradley get his minutes, if he can muster up any sort of pg game. If Delonte comes back, and he and Rondo stay healthy, they will take up nearly every pg minute anyway.

That leaves Ray to go with Avery and Moore at SG. I used to hate Von Wafer's game. But by the end of the year I became a believer. Too bad it appears Doc wants nothing to do with him.

The other draft pick Johnson will hopefully be thrown into the mix to backup KG. Money wise it doesn't appear we can resign both Baby and Green, but then again, their market value perception might be overblown. I think the problem with Big Baby is he and Doc no longer find their "father-son" relationship let's say cute. I think Tony left because he and Doc didn't get along. To both their credit neither voiced any dirty laundry. I admit that is a hunch of mine.

I'd like Big Baby to return as a 2nd or 3rd string pf. I think he was more hurt than fat last year. I think he gets blamed for things, when in fact it is Doc's responsibility to decide his role. E.G,, I would read Doc saying he wants Baby to take that jumper if open. But then later on it would appear Doc was not happy with Baby playing hero ball.

Big Baby is simply too short to play center. KG is simply too skinny to do it either. If you could combine KG's height with Baby's strength, sure, there's your backup center. But this isn't the Twilight Zone.
