Toward the end of the show Artest said he'd been hearing encouraging news from the latest round of labor negotiations taking place between NBA commissioner David Stern and the players' association in New York this week.

"A week ago I expected us not to play until January (or) February, but now I have a good feeling we might have one on time," he said. "It seems like we might possibly have a season. I'm hearing progress in these last couple days. I haven't heard this all summer. I've heard people not even talking, going to meetings, showing up.

"But now I'm hearing some very good things and I'm very excited."

yes, I know its from Ron artest...but, i would assume that the labor union is keeping the guys up to date on the progress of the talks

Nit-picking here but the headline should read "Ron Artest hears progress coming from labor meetings".

How about "Ron Artest hears progress coming from voices in his head"   ;)

Kidding, but I'm slightly more optimistic this week than last week.  Hopefully they're getting closer.

Oh man, I really hope we get some basketball back soon.
That's all I can say.  I really miss it [shakes fist at David Stern] and I'm hoping everything can be resolved sooner rather than later.  That said, Im not too optimistic.
Celtics fan for life.

I think Ron has to say this because he basically guaranteed the Lakers winning the 2012 NBA title.
