JO who was coming off a terrible performance in the playoffs,
false
he play pretty well
and yes years behind showed his lack of resciliance
and had pretty descent playoffs with us
he did have a decent playoffs with us, but the year before that, when we ousted Miami in 5 games, he was downright terrible. he couldn't score to save his life.
although last year JO was far from useless for us, he definitely wasn't worth anything close to his MLE contract.
The problem wasn't signing JO to the MLE, it was signing JO and then having him refuse surgery. He should've gotten it DIRECTLY after we bounced him from the playoffs and he shot about 10% from the field.
Instead he just rested through the offseason, rested through training camp, rested through the first half of the season, decided in like February to rest/rehab for a month, and then 2 weeks later decided to go ahead with the surgery. That's 10 months later than he should've.
Then he came back, reportedly had ZERO swelling whatsoever, and played above average basketball in the playoffs. If he played like that for 50-60 games, the MLE would've been great value.
But what's he doing this offseason in lieu of surgery? Resting - Oh wait, I mean playing with Paul in Vegas. This guy has got to already be more well-rested than my cats.
